ACE Xie Hui Interior Design: Sanya & Chengdu Private House, Balance between Daily Life and Artistic Expression

Blue Morning Light, a family of five with three boys, is the second home in Sanya.

For ACE, exploring the possibility of family space is inseparable from the shaping and presentation of the two keywords of life and growth in space.

ACE does not design according to the usual holiday home routine, but from the family itself and living conditions, properly place the meaning of "home", so that the space naturally exudes comfort, so that this place becomes an emotional connection for a family of five.

ACE not only polishes a container that carries family relationships, but also creates more possibilities for children to grow up.

Like the morning sun plants, like the evening breeze, everything is happening naturally, which is the original intention of the design.

The way of life of contemporary Chinese people is undergoing earth-shaking changes, living is no longer a simple "shelter", we struggle all our lives to create a better life for our families, and to place a family's "body and mind" of self-secret.

Study, party, tea tasting, sports, entertainment, solitude, family fun... Through the design of various life scenes, ACE has made this second residence with three generations of the same house relax and comfortable.

It is human nature to be close to nature, and this is especially true of children. Growth is about fun and color, and it is full of innocence and freedom.

ACE skillfully implants the perception of nature in the space design, narrows the distance between life and nature, and feels the nature and the power of growth with the child.

The combination of natural landscapes and humanities and arts is always full of surprises, and they dialogue with each other, creating a full and rich spatial content, creating a picture of the connection of all things in a more harmonious intellect and soul.

Artistic expression and aesthetic routine are issues that design is worth dealing with in the context of contemporary life.

In this three-layered lower-layered work, the designer layers step by step according to the use of different spaces, clarifies the atmosphere and space field of each floor, and accurately balances the daily life and interactivity required for family life.

Here, a vertical space can be clearly felt the tension of life up and down: the independence and communion of privacy and publicity.

The treatment of the largest negative layer is the most difficult and core part of the case. In the original structure, this floor is a relatively enclosed space, with only a small patio, poor lighting and ventilation, and a large area but useless.

The designer raised the opening of the patio to the top of the first floor, forming a span of two floors of height, breaking the limitations of the space, but also allowing the negative layer and the first floor to form a mutual looking relationship; and then in an open and smooth way, the negative layer of space is released from the dark basement, with the help of sunlight, implanted greenery, to create it as the main public space, while also having social functions.

The fluidity of space is often based on interaction, which is not only reflected in the flow and continuation of vision, but also the expression of daily emotions will be slowly constructed in this interaction, enhancing the emotional resonance between family members.

Between individual expression and long-term residence, between idealism and pragmatism, a delicate balance should be constructed and achieved, which is ACE's residential design concept, and it is also a problem that every modern family must face in the design process.

The balance between daily life and artistic expression is also what this case hopes to explore, so that life can unfold in the atmosphere of art and let art nourish life.

The owner's collection for many years is loosely scattered in the space, and the artistic expression of the space is released by the mutual fit of the spiritual light of the artwork and the surrounding environment. Here, art is not a lofty luxury, but an everyday expression of contemporary lifestyle tastes.

Poetic life, hidden in the details of everyday life.

In different scales of space, the handling of dense relationships is extremely critical. The designer leaves the "high" to the space itself, while the details of the use related to life focus on the "low" and are closer to the human body. Just the right amount of white space gives the space a unique and flexible poetic meaning.

The details of the furnishings are rendered in an artistic way, becoming a rhythm that belongs exclusively to this space, leading to an independent and free living context. The relaxed and measured spatial treatment realizes the dual placement of material and spiritual, expands the living experience of home, and brings a life full of ritual.
