In 1999, "The Matrix" was released, before we saw the movie, it was the Wachowski brothers who had written more than a dozen scripts for "The Matrix", of which there are three versions that are currently the most widely circulated on the market, namely the 96 version, the 97 version, and the 98 shooting version, how to make it like the Boxer series.

The first thing that starts is the green code, and a conversation between Trinity and Sever, the script in version 96 is more extensive and detailed, at the beginning Sever is tracking down Neo and telling Trinitigno about the whereabouts of the day, such as leaving work at 5:01, and then going north to the 7-11 supermarket, buying tobacco and alcohol.
This paragraph actually means that they have been following Neo for a while, and we are more aware of the purpose of this trinity infiltration, that is, to find Neo, and even to meet with Neo, but was ghosted by Sever, and in the script it is noted that Trinity heard the sound of abnormal connection, so there was Trinity's sentence: "Did you hear it", Sever said "What did you hear", and then Trinity questioned "Is this line safe".
From the beginning, it has been revealed that Saifu is a traitor, but it needs to be seen and listened to very carefully and repeatedly, and it is best to combine the script.
We can listen to it, the system analyzes the first 3 5 hours, there is only one syllable sound effect, and at 6 o'clock, suddenly there are two syllables of sound effects, and the Sever access sound is somewhat noisy.
It is worth noting here that this string of analyzed numbers is actually carefully designed, the first three 5s, then the 6, the over-interpretation begins, 5 represents that the matrix matrix has been destroyed five times in front, and now it is the sixth version, and there is a 0 between 5 and 6, and 0 also corresponds to Neo NEO's O, indicating that between the iterations of the 5 to 6 versions, Neo was born, and 6 was followed by 9, suggesting that Neo would subvert everything and return to 0 again.
So there is 5550690, how, too excessive, not outrageous, anyway, "The Matrix", has been analyzed to capillaries, and then excessive brain holes do not matter.
Of course, the number game in the "Matrix" series is indeed based on some basis, to the later analysis will be more in-depth, it is worth noting here that before this string of analyzed numbers, there is also a (312) area code, in the movie screen is not displayed completely, only after reading the script to know the completion of the analysis of the number.
The area code for 312 is Chicago, USA, and the location in the matrix is also in Chicago, because the Wachowski sisters were born in Chicago, Illinois, so they know the streets there.
We look at it next, and then Trinity fights the cops, and in only the 96th version of the script, it is mentioned that trinity killed the last cop, and the moment the cop fell, she screamed in her throat, but was strangled when she fell to the ground and lost her breath.
This sentence implies that in the first scene, it is intended to show the process of the agent invading the body of another person, but in the end it is not used.
The next thing is Trinity running, the agent chases, Trinity continues to run, the agent continues to chase, in the 96 and 97 versions, Trinity jumped to the window and fell into the stairwell, in fact, jumped at the same time there was a light rail train that was running just past, Trinity successfully jumped before the train crashed into her, and the agent was stopped behind, the agent did not dare to jump over.
Trinity fell to the stairwell and raised her gun, and outside the window was the train continuing to move, and agents could be seen watching her in between trains.
According to Morpheus's account to Trinity, there was indeed a light rail train in the street phone booth between Wells and Lake in Chicago.
Perhaps because of the movie budget, the scene where Trinity jumped over the train was deleted, or perhaps because he didn't want Triniti to look too powerful as soon as she appeared, she took away the train plot.
After that, we came to the scene where Neo's protagonist appeared, in the 96 version, Neo was not asleep, but visited a hacking forum on the Internet, where he was talking about who Morpheus was, and also talked about whether Trinity was a man or a woman, corresponding to the bar Neo thought trinity was a man, trinity said that most people think so.
Then they also talked about the matrix and said that the matrix controlled everyone, just like the Sega game.
After that, Trinity entered the forum as a hacker's mysterious identity, and directly sent Wen Neo, followed by the white rabbit, and then said that someone knocked on the door.
Other hackers also saw the intrusion and mistook it for Morpheus.
However, this later evolved into Neo sleeping in front of the computer, and there was no other hacker communication, which allowed the character to be more focused on Neo and made the network system in the matrix seem less easy to penetrate.
Later in the movie, it is Cui who comes to pick up the goods, but in the original 96 version, Choi does not call Choi but Anthony, he comes to avoid the police, and then Neo charges him, and the police are catching some automatic machine devices.
In order to thank Neo for his help, Anthony asks him to participate in the body, and Neo agrees when he sees the little white rabbit on the girl's arm.
Here the film changes the reason for the scene, and changes Anthony's name to Choi Choi, which expands to choose the choice, implying that Neo made a choice.
Yes, the name of the "Matrix" series is also very elaborate, otherwise Anthony would not have been changed to choi Cui, name, place name and so on will be discussed in depth later.
We jump to Neo and are caught in the interrogation room, Smith is friendly torturing Neo, there is a plot where Smith takes off his sunglasses, no matter which script, here it is depicted that after Smith takes off his sunglasses, his eyes appear unnaturally ice blue, so is it the night ghost of the right game...
No, the description here that Smith's eyes are blue corresponds to the blue pills to eat too much, and the blue in the Matrix series is representative of the virtual, which also implies that Smith does not have a realistic counterpart, he is just a virtual program.
Next up is when Neo wakes up at home and Morpheus wants to meet him.
In the 96 version of the script, there is a large scene that shows how to catch the mechanical worm in Neo's body.
On his way to Morpheus, Neo is chased by two policemen, and Apock comes to his rescue and takes Neo to see Trinity first, who blindfolds Neo to prevent the route from being exposed.
Then they went to a black van with an operating table full of electronic devices for catching mechanical worms, and the person who controlled the car was named Gismer, who helped Neo suck out the mechanical worms in his stomach after a complicated operation.
After doing this, Neo went to meet Morpheus.
However, later this whole insect catching scene was deleted, so that the plot rhythm was more compact, and it could enter the main story faster, and the mechanical insect catching was only done in the car with portable equipment.
However, in this deletion scene, Gismer mentioned that Neo is too old, corresponding to what Morpheus said to Neo who has just arrived in the real world, they generally fish people from the matrix, they will choose not to be too old, otherwise some people will find it difficult to accept reality.
After Neo met Morpheus, the room did not show the house number, but the script mentioned that it was room 1313, and after Neo chose the red pill, Morpheus took Neo to another room, and in the 96 version of the script, Sever saw Morpheus bring Neo in, and immediately showed his tail.
Saifu hurried up to dissuade Morpheus, saying I know what you believe, but I think it was a mistake.
And Morpheus replied to Sever, didn't I always tell you, don't let fear control your life.
This deleted line, it is obvious that Seiffer is unwilling to let Neo change his identity, from the later plot we can analyze that if Neo leaves the matrix, the chance of agents catching Neo will be greatly reduced, And Sever will not be able to take Neo to negotiate conditions with agents, and if Neo is really the savior who destroys the matrix, Sever can only stay in the real world.
When Murphys showed the matrix virtual 1999 city, he mentioned that this was Chicago in 1999, that is, the city where Neo lived and worked, but in the film, Chicago was hidden, which would appear to be a larger pattern, otherwise the audience would think that the matrix just simulated a Chicago, just like GTA only did one Los Angeles.
Later, the scene also details how the mechanical octopus, in the human-machine war, how to tear apart the human defense line, but these descriptions were hidden, and then placed in the animation, into the background of the story before the Introduction to the Matrix.
Next, after Morpheus takes Neo to training for a while, Trinity brings Neo dinner alone, and in the movie Trinity leaves.
However, in the 96 script, there is a description of Trinity putting down dinner, leaning over to Neo's face, and then taking a breath to feel Neo's breath... Emmm, if placed in the movie, Trinity is too girly and not cool enough.
Next is the deleted dialogue scene between Neo and Saifu, this scene is also retained in the 98 shooting script, this passage can directly hint at the content of the second part, but in the end it did not appear in the movie, since the shooting script was retained, I doubt that this passage was filmed, but then it was useless, because from the perspective of the film clip, Sever's last sentence retained the last "a small suggestion, see the agent you run".
So let's take a look at this important deletion scene, Neo quietly approached Saifu, Saifu was frightened, it is estimated that at this time he was reporting to Smith, being a thief, looking at his little eyes are still looking at who else besides Neo, but seeing Neo is relieved that this melon can't understand anyway.
After the two of them talk about it in the film, in the cut-out clip of the script, Seyfer tells Neo a little secret, but asks Neo not to tell Morpheus, and Sever points out that Neo is not the savior The ONE that Morpheus has found for the first time.
Neo was surprised and asked how many others were identified as THE ONE by Morpheus?
Saifu said, ah, since I came here, there have been 5.
Neo then asked what had happened to them.
Saifu said, dead, all dead.
Neo asked how he died.
Saifu said Morpheus gained the trust of the previous five and went to the agents, but they were all done. So, I give you a little piece of advice if you see agents, just like us, run, run desperately.
The last sentence is retained in the film, and the five dead people here also correspond to the five versions of the previous matrix, and also hint at the savior of the previous five versions.
Of course, the five people Morpheus was looking for here had nothing to do with the previous five versions of the Savior, but the numbers corresponded exactly.
We imagine that this passage in the movie may weaken the shock of the second part of the later part to reveal the truth about the Savior, but the advantage of this deleted dialogue is that we can see that the Prophet is constantly selecting the Savior to achieve the purpose of upgrading the new version of the matrix with the architect, but in the process of screening, it is inevitable that there will be unqualified Saviors.
But this line also has flaws that are difficult to hide, if everyone knows that Neo is the 6th savior found, then Trinity they must also know, then they will not be so surprised by Neo's performance, and Neo as the protagonist has become less special.
And more importantly, this line would plunge Morpheus into a moral controversy, which is that if Morpheus can't be sure if someone is really a savior, then why should these so-called saviors face the agents and then die at the hands of the agents one by one.
Also, when Neo first came to the real world, Morpheus introduced Zion to Neo, who was founded by a human fleeing from the Matrix led by a godman, and then Morpheus thought that he had found the reincarnation, that is, Neo.
If Saifu said that five people had died before, it would be very frightening, which means that Morpheus had said something similar to the previous five people, asking the five to believe that they were the saviors, but in fact, Morpheus did not care whether he believed that the person was a savior or not, because his purpose was to use the selection indicators given by the prophet to constantly try to find the true savior.
This also means that Morpheus may not have the so-called savior faith, but also let Morpheus and Smith single out, sacrificing their lives to save Neo's motivation can not stand, in summary, this passage does more harm than good, and finally deleted.
After that, Morpheus takes Neo to meet the Prophet, and in the 96 script, the process of seeing the Prophet is more complicated, just like the second part, which requires going through layers of levels.
Morpheus takes Neo to a bar, and after docking with the bartender of the bar, the bartender takes them into a basement, where they enter a door, and Morpheus and Neo enter the Zion Temple in the Matrix World.
That's right, in the Matrix World, there is also their safe secret base, Matrix Zion, a place similar to a temple, and the Matrix System did not know that such a place existed.
At the gate of the Matrix Zion, there is a priestess handle, the priestess greets them kindly, and then Morpheus takes Neo to a room, the style of the room is still very similar to the Buddhist design, there are many children sitting in it, just like the living room where Neo went in the film, and Neo also saw the spoon boy, and the two also chatted.
In the script this series of rituals for meeting the Prophet is simplified, with the emphasis on scenes without the so-called Matrix Zion.
This design is also more rational, because if you think about it, if real humans can quietly build a virtual Zion in the matrix, it will also be disguised to allow humans to be free from the enslavement of the matrix, so as to gain freedom of thought, and freely enter and exit between the virtual and the real, then destroying the matrix will become meaningless, and it will not be better to directly subvert the revolution.
In the film, the Prophet is hidden in a mansion, Morpheus and Neo meet a blind man in the aisle, Morpheus nods to the blind man, the blind man also nods, it is reasonable to say that the blind can not see, which also implies that the blind man is the first level they see the Prophet.
The description in the script is that after the blind man nods, the elevator opens, and there is no video of Morpheus pressing the button of the elevator.
When Morpheus and Neo went to the Prophet's house, an important conversation between Morpheus and Neo was deleted, and this dialogue was still preserved in the shooting script, and it was closely related to the previous dialogue between Neo and Sever.
Before Neo could open the door, he took a deep breath and rested his hand on the doorknob before opening the door.
Then Neo said, Morpheus, I don't think it's a good idea. I told you I don't believe in fate, and I won't believe what the prophet says, so what's the point?
Morpheus said, so what do you believe?
Neo said, what do I believe? Are you kidding? The world I grew up in wasn't real, which meant my previous life was a lie and I didn't believe anything anymore.
So that's why we're here, Morpheus said.
Neo shrugged it off, so why?! I'm going to hear the Prophet tell me that I'm the one you've been waiting for for a long time? Say I can save the world? That sounds crazy!
Morpheus said that faith is never a matter of reason, and I believe it not with my brain, but from my heart.
Neo said, then do you believe that I am the savior?
Morpheus replied, yes, I believe.
Neo went on to say, Oh?! What about the other five before that?
When Morpheus heard this, he wanted to try to hide his inner feelings!
Neo continued to ask, then do you believe they are saviors?!
Morpheus finally spoke, and I believe what the Prophet told me.... No, I misunderstood what the prophet told me, I believed what had once been about me...
Morpheus was somewhat incoherent, and it was hard for him to admit it.
After a long silence, Morpheus went on to explain that I believed what I had done was something I had to do and had to do, that I had missed and made very serious mistakes, that I had not gone a day without thinking of them, that after the fifth time I had lost myself, that I had doubted everything the Prophet had said, that I had doubted myself.
After saying that Morpheus looked up at Neo and went on to say, Then I saw you Neo, and then my world changed, you can say I realized! I can't explain to you what I feel, and although I know that you are the sixth, I can feel that you are the last, you are the true savior, it must be you.
Morpheus's eyes seemed to be burning, and he seemed very excited, and Morpheus continued, before you become a savior, please choose to trust me no matter what.
At this time Neo experienced a strong fanaticism and impulse from Morpheus, the confidence of a pure believer.
Neo could only say in the end, well...
After that, the plot received Neo preparing to open the door, and then before he could touch the door, someone inside took the initiative to open the door.
This passage is the content of Neo's direct questioning of Morpheus after neo informs him as a Saifur.
The Prophet in this passage seems to have given a savior range for Morpheus to sift through, which explains why Neo saw the children in the living room, perhaps also as the object of learning as a matrix upgrade.
During the dialogue, Morpheus also doubted the Prophet and his own faith, but this time he was convinced that Neo was the savior, so Morpheus would also look at each other. Maybe it's seeing Neo's previous training, it's really remarkable.
On the prophet's side, the previous five people should also meet and talk with the prophet, perhaps the content of the dialogue is the same, the prophet will first deny that you are the savior, and then use a set of choice theory of philosophical words to let them make a choice.
So it is also possible that it is not that Morpheus has chosen the wrong person before, but that after meeting the Prophet, they finally decided in their own key choices that the previous five could not become saviors.
However, I may be afraid of being confused with the fifth iteration of the second matrix, so in the end this paragraph was not placed in the movie, and even I once guessed that the idea of the fifth iteration of the second matrix may be inspired by the two deleted dialogues of Neo and Sever, Neo and Morpheus, so there is a plot of the truth revealed by the architect later in the second part.
Then there is the scene where Sever betrays everyone, the conversation between Sever and Trinity, and the 96 version of Sever has more conversation.
One of them, Sever said, in a way, Trinity, you are very lucky, the people in this room may never know why they died, one minute is still alive, the next minute is dead, no warning, but I told you, at least this is what I can do.
Then Saifu angrily jumped onto Morpheus's body and shouted, "Look! The truth! The truth! The truth is that the war between man and machine is over, the war has been over for a long time, and guess what, we humans have lost, we have lost the war!
Trinity said, what about Zion, isn't Zion still there?!
Saifu said contemptuously, Zion? Zion is just a crazy fantasy in it, that's why I'm doing it, Zion must end, now and forever.
Trinity suddenly realized Sever and Smith's plan.
Trinity said, Oh my God! It's about Zion, and you gave Agent Morpheus the access code that wanted to go and get Zion.
Saifu responded, you see Trinity, we humans will have a place in the future, but not in Zion, but in the matrix.
Then Trinity yelled out loud that the Matrix wasn't real!
The above paragraph is replaced in the film with Sever's regret of choosing the red pill, as well as the plan to conceal Zion's access.
Then came the scene where Neo ran to 303 to answer the phone, the earliest script this paragraph is very simplified, after Neo was shot, Trinity did not kiss Neo, nor did she talk about the prophet telling Trinity that she would fall in love with the savior, but Trinity fell in love with Neo in the process of getting along with Neo, and constantly shouted to Neo to be sober!
Then Neo woke up, and Neo stood up and gave Smith another middle finger, and then went to answer the phone, not talking to Smith or getting into Smith's stomach to make Smith crack.
The time when Neo drilled into Smith's body was quite important for Smith's upgrade later, and the old script was oversimplified.
So let's get to the last scene, where Neo makes a phone call in the matrix, and in the shooting script, the lines here are richer and different from the movies.
In the script, Neo says directly as soon as he comes up, Hi, It's me, as if Neo already knows that the other party has been spying on him, and Neo now knows who the other party is.
In this case, it is generally believed that Neo's phone call was to the agent, or to the architect of the second part, or to the Matrix Emperor.
In the script, it is more clear that the person Neo called should be the architect.
Neo goes on to say, I know you're there, I can feel you, I know you're scared, you're afraid of us, you're afraid of change.
But in the script, what Neo says is, I know you're there, I can feel you, I can imagine you can feel me.
This sentence explains that the reborn Neo is more able to perceive the existence of the matrix with his "superpowers", just as he saw the matrix world presented in the form of a rain of code after his resurrection.
Then Neo continued, you don't have to look for me anymore, I've had enough, I won't run and hide anymore, but whether we've finished your fight with me or not is up to you.
I believe that in the depths of my heart, we all want the world to change, and now the matrix is our human cage, but it can also be the chrysalis of our transformation into a butterfly! These are all things that you help me to understand, so it's free to understand, you can't change your matrix cage, you have to change yourself first.
When I used to look at the world, I could see its edges and boundaries, its rules and controls, its leaders and laws, and so on. But now, I see another world, a different world, anything is possible! A world of peace full of hope!
I can't tell you how to get there, but I know that if you can free your mind, you'll find your way out.
This long passage of obscure words, in the film at the end becomes more understandable, Neo said in the film, I can't predict the future, I'm not here to tell you how everything ended, I'm here to tell you how everything began, I'll hang up the phone, I'll show the world what you don't want them to see, I'll let them see a new world without you, no rules and controls, no borders and boundaries, everything is possible.
From the script and the film, the two not very similar concept lines of Neo, we can see that the two different attitudes of Neo, the neo in the script seems to be able to understand the motivation behind the matrix more from the heart, and believes that the matrix is not completely the enemy of mankind, and the film directly portrays Neo as a revolutionary, to stand on the complete opposite side of the matrix, to declare war on the matrix, from an audiovisual point of view, the film version of the ending of course looks more bloody, the script's set of words appear softer and more sophisticated.
However, from today's point of view, the script version of Neo's set does not completely negate the matrix, but chooses a symbiotic peace, more like today we rely on technology, rely on mobile phones and the Internet, and even maybe one day, if the so-called metaversic era really comes, and then go back to see Neo's set of words on the matrix in the script, it will be more meaningful.
Perhaps, the person on the other end of Neo's phone in the script is our audience.
