Among them, the total weight of the body is 55 tons, the single five-ring structure is composed of two whole rings and 130 connecting members, while the base truss supporting the five rings is spliced from H-shaped steel, with a total weight of 105 tons, and the high-altitude installation risk is very large. The project department set up a special building information model (BIM) team to simulate the optimal lifting volume and weight under different winds through the three-dimensional model, so as to optimize the lifting scheme, and finally control the welding error within 2mm, accurately presenting the "Olympic five rings" posture.
As the iconic landscape of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the "Haituo Pagoda" project in Yanqing Racing District makes full use of the original building to transform the structure, takes the art form of "ice sculpture" as the source of inspiration, creates a streamer spiral like ice and snow crystals along the six sides of the tower through the steel structure and ETFE membrane, and installs a total of more than 70,000 white point light sources on the surface, and the tower body is equipped with streamer-shaped decoration, which will light up the light landscape at night, and it is still clearly visible within a radius of five kilometers, becoming one of the iconic landscapes of the Beijing Winter Olympics.
