On the morning of November 6, 1934, in the French Concession of Shanghai, the autumn rain was pouring, and the road was sprinkled with yellow sycamore leaves.
The Kuomintang Central Command Shanghai District, the Shanghai Police Special Service Unit, and the Emergency Patrol Team of the Concession Ministry of Works and Bureaus took a temporary cooperative operation to search and arrest the CCP's Special Branch Red Brigade in 6 different locations.
The entire 35 members of the Special Branch Red Team, except for Fang Xiaoyong, who escaped by jumping out of the window after being injured, the remaining 34 people were all arrested.

The Special Branch Red Team, also known as the Special Third Section, the Action Section, and the Dog Fighting Team, is a capable, powerful, and disciplined defense team of our Party, whose main responsibilities are to protect the core organs, rescue comrades, and eradicate traitors and agents.
The members of the red team come from the underground party hoe gang and the Red Army sharpshooters in the base areas, and the marksmanship is one of the best in a hundred.
The team members are divided into several groups, which do not connect with each other, and the team leader and the teams are contacted. Members do not call anyone by name, they all use aliases and change them from time to time. The team members rented a house through two landlords, and changed their names in each place.
Captain Kwong Hui'an, formerly known as Gong Changrong, born in 1903, a native of Xinhui, Guangdong, known as "Old Guangdong", was the former company commander of the Red 4th Division.
In the four years that he served as the leader of the red team, the Underground Organization of the Communist Party of China in Shanghai was greatly damaged six times, thousands of underground Party members were arrested, and a large number of personnel defected, causing great harm to the revolution.
Faced with a brutal and bloody underground struggle, he decided to take the initiative to attack, blood for blood, for tat.
Kwong Wai On is a wing chun master, a bold artist, and a meticulous thinker, with extremely well-thought-out action design.
He successively led a team to assassinate Shi Jimei and Wang Yonghua, the two governors of the Shanghai District of the Central Command, so that traitors and spies were all in danger, and they were afraid of encountering the red team when they went out.
The red team has acted more than 100 times and has never been exposed. The enemy only knew about the "old Guangdong" and his people, and knew nothing about Kwong Hui'an's real name, identity, and physical appearance.
Xu En, the head of the central unification secret service, once wrote in his memoirs: "This series of casualties caused everyone to be uneasy. In particular, in the cases of Shi Jimei and Wang Yonghua, the person in charge of the two direct assassinations we sent, and the locations and times they chose were carefully calculated and arranged, making it difficult for people to be wary. ”
Why was such a well-organized and well-behaved team taken by the enemy?
This is related to the traitor Zhang Asi.
Zhang Assi, who was originally an underground traffic officer under the Shanghai West District Committee of the CPC, was secretly arrested by the Central Unification in 1933, and after being "reformed" and released, he became a "cell" that broke into the underground party organization- undercover, and was contacted by Su Chengde, director of the Shanghai Huxi Sub-district of the Central Unification and traitor of the CPC.
In October 1934, Su Chengde was under the cement bridge of Mintenin Road and zhang Asi, who had not seen each other for more than a month.
Su Chengde asked him why he did not contact him on time. Zhang Asi said that he took a boat to the outside of Wusongkou on the Yangtze River and practiced marksmanship on a remote uninhabited island, but he could not come out.
Su Chengde was very familiar with the red team procedure, and he realized that Zhang Asi was about to be absorbed by the red team and become an intern team member, so he arranged a special agent to set up a fruit stall on the road diagonally opposite his residence; the next day, he rented a house next to him and opened a shoemaker shop.
By tracking Down Zhao Xuan, a member of the Red Team who was in contact with Zhang Asi, and then stalking him step by step, the enemy found all the footholds of the Red Team members, as well as the residence of Captain Kwong Hui'an- the second floor of the Fengxiang Silver Building on the Julaida Road in the French Concession.
You Dingyi, commissioner of the Shanghai District of the Central Command, said in a written report: "We have fully understood the content of the red team, and it has a total of 35 people. ”
After the arrest of 34 members of the Special Branch Red Team, Kwong Hui'an and 27 others were unyielding under the severe torture of the enemy, and the remaining 7 defected.
At 4 p.m. on April 13, 1935, Kwong Hui'an, Zhao Xuan, Meng Huating, Zhu Jinming, and others were escorted to the Military Justice Department of the Nanjing Gendarmerie Headquarters and "put on a hemp rope and strangle a wooden tree." This was the first and last time that a Kuomintang court sentenced him to hanging, and the executioners were temporarily trained.
Before the execution, when the pastor finished praying and wanted to sprinkle holy water on Kwong Hui'an and others and ask them to repent, they were sternly refused.
Kwong Hui'an said goodbye to the team members: "I will wait for the road at the same time, not alone, but I hope to be buried together after death..."
The legend of a generation of Turco and the Red Team came to a tragic end.
According to the report of Fang Xiaoyong, who escaped from the window, and the intelligence sent back by the internal line lurking in the Central Command, it was confirmed that it was Zhang Asi's rebellion that caused the loss of the Special Branch Red Team.
The superiors instructed to eliminate the traitor Zhang Asi at any cost.
However, after a long search, the whereabouts of Zhang Asi were never found.
Where did Zhang Asi go?
It turned out that Zhang Asi, who had received a large bounty, ran to the puppet state of Manchukuo, four or five thousand miles away, in order to avoid being hunted down and killed by the underground party.
In Harbin, he often haunted the gambling hall dance hall, spent the day drinking, and made generous shots, which attracted the attention of a dancer.
The dancer is named Liu Fuying, a Japanese woman born in Harbin, whose real name is Akinoko, and is a female spy of the Harbin headquarters of the Japanese secret service.
Under the development of Liu Fuying, Zhang Asi joined the Japanese spy system, and after being trained in the Harbin special spy class, he became a spy specializing in sabotaging the underground organization of the Anti-Japanese League.
In early 1942, after the Japanese army attacked Pearl Harbor, in order to draw more troops south to Southeast Asia, Japan changed its strategy of invading China and adopted the method of coercion and inducement to win over the Kuomintang regime. The Japanese secret service organs also changed their course, stepping up their plots of rebellion and persuading key Kuomintang members to surrender. In May, Zhang Wassi was sent back to Nanjing to cooperate with this work.
After returning to Nanjing, Zhang Asi found Su Chengde, who was the chief of the Wang puppet police, and met with Zhou Fohai, the second person in charge of the Wang puppet regime.
Zhou Fohai couldn't look at Zhang Asi at all. This nameless rat and four-surnamed domestic slave actually took advantage of the Japanese to directly intervene in the "great cause of peace talks" with Chongqing.
Therefore, Zhou Fohai, on the one hand, perfunctorily gave Zhang Asi a handwritten letter and some gold and silver antiques, and asked him to take a boat to Chongqing to plot against the Kuomintang generals; on the other hand, he sent people to Shanghai and, through intermediaries, revealed Zhang Assi's whereabouts to the CCP's secret intelligence agency in Shanghai, PanBu, in order to borrow a knife to kill people and get rid of Zhang Asi.
After Yan'an received this information from Pan Bu, he immediately ordered: Get rid of Zhang Asi and not let the blood of Kwong Hui'an and other comrades of the Special Branch Red Team flow in vain.
After Zhang Asi took a boat to Chongqing, he stayed in the Jialing Hotel.
The palatial Jialing Hotel, privately funded by Kuomintang Finance Minister Kong Xiangxi, is well-known in Chongqing's hotel industry and is known as the "State Guest House". Those who come here to open houses, in addition to the important members of the Kuomintang, are rich businessmen and tycoons, and ordinary people dare not ask for help.
Zhang Asi lived in Room 8 on the first floor, and for five consecutive days he closed the door and lived in simplicity. In the middle, a young officer of the Ministry of Defence visited twice. Zhang Asi went out briefly every time to pick up and drop off guests.
On the sixth night, 4 people came to the door of No. 108 and rang the doorbell.
The door was delayed, and 3 men dressed in black squeezed into the room, while another gray-clad man stood guard outside the door.
"What's the matter?" Inside Zhang Asi asked.
"Turn on the lights, six bureaus, check the night."
There was another grind and the lights turned on.
"Who's spitting on the bed?"
"The girl I called out there."
"Do you have any documents?"
"Yes. My name is Liu Changshun. ”
A man dressed in black took the document and glanced at it, handing it back to him.
"Mr. Liu, I'm sorry, you are a prostitute, hindering the weathering, please come with us."
"Shame! I'll let her go right away! With that, Zhang Asi reached out and took out a bundle of legal tender from the drawer, handed it over, nodded his head and said, "No respect." ”
The other party threw the legal tender on the table: "Please don't hinder us from carrying out our official duties!" ”
"Official business, should cooperate, should..." Zhang Asi said, like a muddy loach that frightened the water, he sneaked to the waste paper basket next to the bed and leaned down to get a gun.
The three men in black jumped up and pressed Zhang Asi to the carpet, two men in black twisted his arms, and one of the men in black pulled down the red silk quilt on the bed and covered Zhang Asi's head with all his strength.
The man on the bed was on all fours and eight legs naked under the gaze.
The Man in Black said apologetically: I'm sorry.
Zhang Asi had a lot of brute force, 3 people to 1, he was still struggling desperately.
The gray-clad man who was guarding the door heard that the inside had been wrestling, so he pushed the door in to see the situation.
This look was not tight, only to see the woman on the bed, naked to the coat rack, one hand was pulling out the pocket of a black Xiang satin cheongsam.
Not good! She was pulling out a gun.
At the moment of the first shot, the gray-clad man flew up, kicked her down in the air, and then took advantage of the situation to kneel down and squeeze her throat with one hand.
"Let me die to understand, what are you?" Her voice was filled with resentment and pleading.
"What are you?" The gray-clad man asked rhetorically.
"I am The Japanese Kwantung Army Shōsa, Akinoko."
The gray-clad man stared at her fiercely and said, "We are Chinese!" I have not forgotten the Chinese of my ancestors! After saying that, he punched her unconscious.
After the gray-clad man freed his hand, he grabbed the lamp and slammed it on the back of Zhang Asi's head.
With a bang, Zhang Asi's tall body collapsed into a mess, and the light in the room was half dimmed.
The four people tied zhang Asi and Qiu Tianzi's hands and feet and covered their mouths with towels.
After a while, the man in black woke up Zhang Asi with cold water, asked some confessions, and finally said in a low and serious voice: On behalf of the organization, Zhang Asi was sentenced to death.
Zhang Asi, who was terrified, was about to shout for help when a rope strangled his neck.
As the rope tightened tighter and tighter, Zhang Asi screamed for his life.
The gray-clad man asked, "What about this woman?" ”
"Leave her to die."
The 4 people left the Jialing Hotel and walked to the road leading to the river, where they were greeted by a middle-aged man.
"Finished?"
"That's it, Fang Team."
A full moon hangs in the sky, the trees on the road are shady, and the sound of the waves of the Yangtze River is heard in the ears.
Fang Team whispered to himself, "I really miss old Guangdong..."
