"But everyone understands that Yang Guofu has courage and strategy, has rich combat experience, and with his leadership, the troops can go better."
A year later, the Red Army began the Long March, and when passing through the Jialing River, ten thousand enemies launched a fierce attack on us, the enemy was prepared, they were ambushed in the lofty mountains, and seeing that the situation was not right, Yang Guofu immediately moved separately. He divided his troops into three routes, one speeding to the left, one to intercept the enemy, and the other to pretend to be reinforcements. After the battle broke out, the artillery fire burst out, the bullets shot like raindrops, and seeing that there were fewer and fewer Red Army soldiers on the frontal battlefield, the enemy was indeed more and more rampant, but when they approached, the Number of Red Army increased.
Looking at the back again, the large army speeding all the way detoured behind it, and just like that, the enemy was suddenly blinded. Just when they hesitated, the Red Army immediately merged into one place, and then broke through with fierce fire, and by the time the enemy reacted, we had already fled. Yang Guofu commanded decisively, he grabbed the fighter, which saved the troops, and after this battle, the troops gave him a thumbs up and down.
When crossing the meadow, Yang Guofu also took the lead in preparing, he borrowed grain and grass, and picked barley noodles. Because of this, Yang Guofu led his troops to be the first to go out of the meadow, and the whole battalion of fighters was reduced by only 2 people, which was highly appreciated by his superiors. In October 1935, they successfully arrived in northern Shaanxi. In November, he was ordered by the great man to participate in the command of the Battle of Zhiluo Town, facing several times the enemy, he fought bravely, relying on the terrain, mobilizing the masses, and the warriors and the enemy fought back and forth. Then, with his outstanding record, he was slowly promoted by his superiors. In 1936, Yang Guofu entered the Red Army University, where he studied hard and practiced diligently, supplemented the defects of cultural knowledge, and paved the way for the unified troops to fight.
After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War in 1937, Yang Guofu was subsequently transferred to the Anti-Japanese War for training. After that, he was sent to Qinghe District, Shandong Province, to develop local armed forces. Behind the enemy lines, they took great risks every day, in order to raise grain and grass, Yang Guofu came to the city many times, and in the struggle with the Japanese Kou, he won many victories, and for a while, the Japanese army also regarded him as a thorn in the eye. Therefore, all the counties and towns are posting his portraits, but Yang Guofu is not afraid, in his eyes, the Japanese are paper tigers, as long as we rely on the masses and develop the army, we will definitely drive the enemy out of China.
In the winter of 1938, Yang Guofu pulled up a team in Shandong, under his leadership, thousands of people united as one, everyone hid in the mountains, mobilized the masses, relying on guerrilla warfare, movement warfare, we and the enemy constantly maneuvered. As an important local anti-Japanese force, the Japanese army will not let them go. During this period, the Japanese army sent a large number of troops to sneak attack and encircle and suppress, seeing that the situation had changed, Yang Guofu put forward the idea of insisting on guerrilla warfare in the plains. In fact, Yang Guofu believes that the Japanese army understands us very well, and the more the enemy thinks that our army does not dare to fight back head-on, we should try, and perhaps it is more beneficial to fight a dozen.
In the end, Yang Guofu persuaded everyone that they regarded the area around Liujiadian as a battlefield, launched a militia, and took out all the family foundations. Soon, an enemy force bit the hook, and several Japanese squads poured in. At this moment, our army divided into multiple routes and rushed from the open plain, and the enemy could not grasp his head, and was quickly captured by us. After that, hundreds of Japanese prisoners were escorted back, and while they were being taken, some fighters tried to kill them.
Yang Guofu immediately shouted loudly, and after some investigation, he found that the Japanese soldiers at the bottom were also pitiful. Therefore, he prepared to launch psychological warfare, unlike the enemy, the Eighth Route Army never mistreated the prisoners, on the contrary, it often sent good food and drink, Yang Guofu and the soldiers nibbled on the coarse steamed buns, but the Japanese prisoners ate white rice and white noodles, and after a few days, the prisoners were greatly moved. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Yang Guofu stepped up his offensive, vigorously propagating progressive ideas and emphasizing the principle of peace. Later, this group of Japanese troops was deeply moved, and they took the initiative to help our army and became a group of anti-war forces within the Japanese army.
In August 1945, the Chinese people won the victory of the War of Resistance. After that, Yang Guofu also bid farewell to these prisoners, because of his care, this group of Japanese people was directly repatriated to China, did not participate too much in the Japanese invasion, and many of them became an important force in promoting the friendship of Sino-Japanese relations among the Japanese people after returning to China.
In the Liberation War, Yang Guofu still performed well, and his troops rushed to the northeast battlefield, followed Marshal Lin Biao, and participated in the Liaoshen and Pingjin battles. After the founding of New China, he served as the principal of the First Cultural Accelerated Middle School of the Central And Southern Military Region, and under his training, a number of military talents emerged. In 1955, Yang Guofu, who had distinguished himself in battle, was awarded the rank of lieutenant general. In the 1960s, he served as deputy commander of the Jinan Military Region and continued to make great contributions to the construction of New China.
In 1982, General Yang Guofu died of illness in Beijing, and at his memorial service, people were surprised to find that a group of Japanese people had appeared. And these Japanese were the Japanese soldiers who were given preferential treatment after being captured, and they deliberately crossed the ocean to participate in mourning, in order to thank Yang Guofu for his grace of reconstruction.
