Yang Zengxin, the founder of the school, the governor of Xinjiang and the overseer, came to congratulate him with great interest. Yang Zengxin happily fisted and drank with people, and according to the plan, after lunch, he would go to the Army Lecture Hall to inspect. Fan Yaonan, the commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Xinjiang, turned his head and asked Zhang Chunxi, director of the school's academic affairs department in charge of the banquet: "Are the wine and dishes ready?" ”

Gunfire rang out, and guests from all walks of life scattered and fled the school. The Russian Grammar and Politics College in Xinjiang, where the crime occurred, is only a wall away from Yang Zengxin's Overseer's Office. Fan Yaonan, the commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Xinjiang, and Zhang Chunxi, director of school affairs, led more than thirty sworn party members to the Overseer's Office next door. After they shot and killed Yang Zengxin, they also wanted to seize Yang Zengxin's GuanFang Seal Letter. Guan Fangyin's letter arrived, and Fan Yaonan prepared to convene a meeting of officials.

Jin Shuren, the head of the Civil Affairs Department, originally attended the graduation ceremony of the school, but left early due to an incident. Jin Shuren, a student of Yang Zengxin, learned of the change and quickly gathered troops to surround the Overseer's Office. Fan Yaonan and more than thirty of his henchmen took over the Overseer's Office and went to war with the troops brought by Kim Shu-jin. When the shootout lasted for a short time, Fan Yaonan, Zhang Chunxi, and their comrades ran out of bullets and were all captured. Jin Shuren announced the immediate execution of Fan Yaonan and his cohorts present, gouging out his eyes and dissecting his heart, leaving no living mouth.

After Yang Zengxin was assassinated, Jin Shuren handled the aftermath. In the spring of 1929, Yang Zengxin's coffin was transported back to Beijing along the Trans-Siberian Railway and buried on the banks of the Changping Sha River in Beijing.
