However, many people do not know that in addition to the black slave trade, Europeans at the end of the Qing Dynasty even sold Chinese, and this number is not one or two, but tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands. In strange countries, these Chinese are engaged in the most dangerous and low-level jobs, and their lives are extremely miserable.
At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, as the black slave trade gradually became difficult, some slave traders set their sights on China at that time, because China had a large population and frequent wars, and it was easy to coax some desperate people to get on their ships, follow the ocean across the sea, and then be sold by them. In the beginning, these trafficked people were mainly men, and they had a nickname called "piglets", which naturally meant it, so most of them were sold to South America to mine, North America to build railways, almost as long as the most dangerous work, there are their presence. Because of this, after the completion of the East-West Railway in the United States, there is a saying that "there is a Chinese worker buried under every sleeper". However, it is precisely because of the efforts and efforts of Chinese workers that they have taken root and survived in the place where they are located, and this has also led to the role of "Pig Flower".
The so-called "pig flower" actually refers to the Chinese women who have been abducted and sold, because they are cheap and have no status, so they have received such a nickname. As the Chinese workers trafficked to the Americas took root, many Europeans found that they were in urgent need of women, so they used this as a major business opportunity to operate, luring and kidnapping Chinese girls and selling them to some areas where Chinese workers and Asians were concentrated in the Americas. Except for a small part of the "Pig Flower" who was bought by Chinese workers as wives, most of the rest became prostitutes, relying on the sale of their bodies to survive and miserable. In addition to the tragic ending, these "pig flowers" are also fighting against the god of death in the process of being transported by slave traders.
Because slave traders do not treat "pig flowers" as human beings at all, these "pig flowers" are treated very badly during transportation. For example, in 1854, the British "Inglewood" bought a batch of "pig flowers" from Ningbo to be transported to Portuguese Macau, but in the process of transportation, these crew members stuffed more than forty women into a cabin, and in order to prevent the stench from overflowing inside, they actually blocked the gap. Under such living conditions, when they arrived in Macao, these women had scabies, abscesses, and some even dying, which made people unbearable to look at them. At that time, there was a slave trading organization called "Xieyitang" in Hong Kong, and they only received 50 silver dollars from private individuals, but when they transported these women to the United States, they were worth 1,000 silver dollars each, which was a huge profit, but this profit was based on the suffering of these innocent women in China.
Nowadays, many national museums have photos of "piglets" and "pig flowers" in those years, and seeing these photos believes that everyone's heart is painful, but sometimes pain is also a good medicine, so that we will not forget the truth that we will be beaten if we are backward, and at the same time inspire everyone to create a better future.
