As a member of the Western affairs faction at the end of the Qing Dynasty, Li Hongzhang was not only the leader of the Western Affairs Movement, but also one of the important figures that Cixi relied on in his later years. Although Li Hongzhang's status was still just a "slave talent", he did not do much for Cixi. Every time a treaty is signed, he basically has to go up and sign it as a representative. Therefore, many people now know that Li Hongzhang did not get a good job in handling the Beiyang Marine Division, and signing the treaty is a good hand. In the late Qing Dynasty, he almost ran through a history of humiliation from foreign affairs to failure. However, despite this, after his death, there is still a simple but large tomb.

Li Hongzhang had been building his own tomb before he died, and for the ancients, the tomb was a very important symbol. What's more, Li Hongzhang was already considered the best official at this time, and if he didn't get his grave well, then he couldn't raise his eyebrows. Therefore, despite the internal and external troubles at that time, Li Hongzhang still did not forget that his grave should be done well. After his death in 1903, his body was brought back to the grave site for burial. People thought that from then on, Li Hongzhang's name could only appear in the history of the late Qing Dynasty.
However, the camera turned around, and the time came to 1958, which was 55 years after Li Hongzhang's death. Before 1958, he had been quietly in his grave, but after 1958, he could not find even the bones. The reason is simple. In 1958, the society was industrialization, so the pace of building factories was getting faster and faster, and next to Li Hongzhang's tomb was an open space, which was very suitable for building a factory. So after getting the approval of the superiors, the workers set out to level Li Hongzhang's grave and build the factory building.
Opening the tomb, people found that Li Hongzhang's funerary items were very few, except for eyes, pocket watches, crutches and other supplies, there were almost no gold and silver items. After handing over these antiques, Li Hongzhang's body was pulled out. After all, Li Hongzhang had signed unequal treaties, so the workers were very hostile to him.
So his body was hung on a tractor, dragged on the street to "parade the street", after the body was paraded on the street, there was also a large degree of damage, after all, Li Hongzhang had only one skeleton left at that time. In the midst of the bumps, the bones were scattered, and in the end it was impossible to find at all. Either it was crushed into powder or it was taken away by wild dogs on the side of the road. It is a pity that he was once a generation of imperial court ministers, but under the flow of history, he finally ended up with no bones. Probably this is also how Li Hongzhang can't think of it.
