On January 12, as the "closing work" of the series of activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the National Academy of Painting of China, the opening ceremony of the "Datong Under Heaven - Guofengtang Art Works Exhibition, a researcher of the National Academy of Painting of China", was held in the Guofeng Hall of the National Academy of Painting of China. Since ancient times, China has had the tradition of "gentlemen meeting friends with literature", and literati and scholars have either shared similar interests or taken advantage of a whim to exchange skills and cultivate temperament through pen and ink games, forming a unique phenomenon of "elegant collection" in the history of Chinese culture and art.
Because the "Yaji" of the past generations has left a large number of famous calligraphy and painting masterpieces, the "Yaji" has become a special carrier for the creation of Chinese painting and calligraphy. As a state-level art creation and research institution, the National Academy of Painting of China (formerly known as the Academy of Chinese Painting) has always spared no effort in publicizing and promoting China's excellent traditional culture, and has actively played an exemplary role.
Since the "Zaojiantang Period" (from 1977 to 1984, when the Chinese Painting Research Institute was founded), artists from different periods of the National Academy of Painting of China have been keen to use the Yaji Pen Club to inspire creativity, exhibit their strengths, taste and learn, and create a large number of rare cooperation works. Lu Yushun said that as an important part of the series of activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the founding of the institute, the theme of the "Guofengtang Elegant Collection" exhibition was named "The World is Datong", which is in line with the theme of the previous "Academic Exhibition of Young and Middle-Aged Artists of the National Academy of Painting of China", which is proposed in response to the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's speech of "The Avenue is not lonely, the world is one family", and also expresses the artist's original intention and determination to follow and adhere to the "Avenue" of art, as well as the desire to build a bridge to communicate with the world with culture.
