September 3 (Reporter Zheng Yingying) September 3 marks the 76th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. On the first anniversary of his death, Gao Wenbin, the last Chinese witness to participate in the Tokyo trial, was buried in Shanghai Fushouyuan on the third day.
On September 7, 2020, Gao Wenbin died of illness in Shanghai at the age of 99. Before his illness, he had been involved in the collation of historical materials related to the Tokyo Trials.
His daughter Gao Lan blushed at the scene and recalled her father's life in a trembling voice: "He suffered many difficult days, but the patriotic feeling of serving the country with a sincere heart has always remained unchanged." ”
The Tokyo Trials, which were conducted in Tokyo, Japan, from 1946 to 1948, against Japan's war crimes in World War II, determined the aggressiveness and injustice of Japan's war from a legal point of view, and through the trial of Japan's main war criminals, publicly exposed the war atrocities of the Japanese militarists, especially the crimes committed in China during the 14 years of aggression against China.
From 1946 to 1948, Gao Wenbin participated in the Tokyo Trials and successively served as an interpreter for the International Prosecutor's Office and a secretary for the Chinese Procuratorial Office. During his participation in the Tokyo trial, Gao Wenbin found a 1937 news photo in a pile of old newspaper materials in the Tokyo Daily News as evidence for the Executioners of the Nanjing Massacre "Hundred Kills and Killings Competition", Japanese second lieutenant officers Toshiaki Xiangjing and Takeshi Noda.

Gao Lan said that his father's memory was getting worse and worse at that time, but he still remembered the Tokyo trial.
"Father feels that this is his unshirkable duty, and hopes that our descendants will understand this history, not forget this unforgettable history, and contribute to the prosperity of the motherland and world peace in today's peaceful environment." She said.
Gao Lan said that she has been sorting out her father's things in the past few months, including manuscripts, books, Chinese and English teaching handouts, correspondence, etc. "When sorting out my father's relics, I re-acquainted my father, who really loved the country and the people with a sincere heart." We are very willing to donate these relics so that the next generation can see the patriotism of the older generation. ”

At the memorial service on the same day, Yan Dalong, deputy secretary of the party committee of Shanghai Maritime University, said that for more than half a century, Mr. Gao Wenbin has unremittingly warned the people of the country to remember history and not forget the national shame, and his patriotic heart has been integrated into flesh and blood and is one with his life.
