The more modern medicine develops, the more questionable Chinese medicine is, probably because Chinese medicine has thousands of years of history, and Chinese medicine doctors give us the impression of old people in ancient costumes, giving people a sense of feudal superstition. In fact, after thousands of years of demonstration, although some of them cannot be explained by modern medical principles, they cannot deny the scientific nature of Chinese medicine. In Chinese history, there have also been many healers who have been flowing for hundreds of years, such as the divine doctor Hua Tuo, Bian Que, and so on, but why was it that as soon as the Bian Que medical book was unearthed, he was kicked out of the history textbook?

In addition to the mystery of his medical skills, Bian Que's personal information is also very mysterious. We only know Bian Que, the surname of Ji, the people of Bohai County, and the ancestors of this surname are the descendants of the Yellow Emperor we are familiar with. His medical skills are so clever, he must have been instructed by high people, rather than self-taught, so who has such a great ability to teach such a medical wizard.
According to legend, Bian Que's master was Chang Sangjun, who was also a divine doctor at that time. At this time, Bian Que was still a small director of a hotel, and Chang Sangjun saw that he had a lot of medical talent, so he passed on his medical books and taught him medical skills, and Bian Que quickly became famous with his medical talent.

So is Bian Que really called Bian Que? This name sounds like a stage name rather than the original name, in fact, there is indeed a story behind the stage name of Bian Que. It is said that at that time, there was a minister in the Jin Dynasty named Zhao Jianzi, who was in a coma for five days due to illness, and when the family felt that Zhao Jianzi was not saved, he was cured by Bian Que several times.
In order to repay Bian Que, Zhao Jianzi rewarded him with 40,000 acres of good land and a house, and in this house there was a sacred stone that resembled a Bian Que bird, so he had the stage name of Bian Que. Bian Que is considered to be one of the most outstanding medical scientists in ancient China, and his story has also been incorporated into language textbooks, but with the excavation of Bian Que's related medical techniques, he was removed from the textbook.
In 2013, a Han tomb was excavated in Chengdu, and some medical techniques were found in the Han tomb, because the Han Dynasty is more than 2,000 years old, so the bamboo jane is not well preserved, and after repeated research by experts, it was found that these medical books are likely to be related to Bian Que.

It didn't take long for Bian Que to be kicked out of the history textbook because experts believe that the bian que story in the history books has a fictional component, and even whether Bian Que himself really exists is debatable. When Bian Que cured Zhao Jianzi and also cured King Wu of Qin, the time difference between these two events was two hundred years, which was absolutely impossible for an ordinary person, and Bian Que could not live for two hundred years. Later, the stories of ancients such as Bian Que, Qu Yuan, and Zhang Heng were compiled into language textbooks.
The story of Bian Que in a history textbook
The story left behind by Bian Que may have a fictional component, and even if Bian Que is really a fictional character in history, it should not be kicked out of the history textbook. Because Bian Que does not represent himself and his own story, but carries Chinese culture, such a hasty kick out of the textbook, this excessive pursuit of truth by experts is indeed worth discussing.
