This memorial service was held for Zhang Xueliang.
During this period, an old man with a kind face was invited to speak, and he did not resign, because he had this qualification and was one of the most trusted people in the young marshal's lifetime. In the face of visitors from all sides, he told three things, each of which was a secret that the young marshal did not know, and each of them was extremely heavy and admirable.

For the name Zhang Xueliang, I believe that many friends who understand the modern Chinese revolution know it. Knowing that this former young marshal of the Northeast Army was young and promising, who took the lead in "changing the banner of the northeast" and promoting the "Xi'an Incident", to a certain extent changed the trend of the modern Chinese revolution, it can be said that it has a far-reaching impact. What makes many people more confused is that in addition to these two more influential historical events, this young marshal seems to have disappeared into the annals of history.
It turned out that although Chiang Kai-shek was forced to agree to the cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, after all, this matter cast a shadow in his heart. Especially for the young marshal, this person he once trusted took the lead in embarrassing him, and naturally he could not let it go easily. The young marshal was also well aware of such a result, so he offered to send Chiang Kai-shek back to Nanjing. Before leaving, he instructed Yang Hucheng that if something happened to him, the Northeast Army would be in his charge. He even wrote two wills, in which he stated that if the anti-Japanese campaign failed, he would be killed.

It can be seen from this that his determination to resist the war is very firm. As early as in the northeast, the young marshal was a man with a heart of hills and a patriotic generosity. At that time, the country was in a situation of warlord chaos, and the Japanese army was eyeing the Northeast Tiger. Faced with this situation, the young marshal believed that if he wanted to expel foreign enemies, he must first achieve domestic unity. Therefore, after he took over the Northeast Army, he took the initiative to propose a change of banner and put it under the jurisdiction of the National Government. However, his vision is beautiful, and the national government does not have such a measure as his.
Until the fall of the three eastern provinces, the Nationalist government remained stationary. Seeing his hometown being humiliated, the young marshal, like thousands of soldiers of the Northeast Army, was bitter and guilty. At that time, the nationalist army was busy "suppressing the communists" in the south, busy subjugating the warlord forces in other places. In the face of the young marshal's many anti-Japanese requests, old Chiang kai-shek only sent off with the phrase "outside the country must first be inside." Against this difficult background, the young marshal was forced to make the decision to force Chiang Kai-shek to resist Japan. Afterwards, he himself was detained and monitored by the Jiang family for a long time for half a century.

In 1995, Zhang Xueliang went to Hawaii with his wife Zhao Si, where he spent the rest of his life, and died in 2001 at the age of 101.
Someone once commented that he should bear historical responsibility for the fall of the three eastern provinces. He himself is also quite guilty, but there are some things that he cannot control, and he can only say that he has a patriotic feeling of love for the people, but he cannot see through the changes of the situation. After his death, relatives, friends and other people from all walks of life from the mainland, Taiwan and other places came to mourn. The old man mentioned above is one of them, his name is Lin Yuanquan, and he is the butler and driver of the young marshal.

When he was first transferred to work with the young marshal, his task was to spy on the young marshal's daily life and see what he did every day. Who did you meet? What was said? However, with the long time together, he was gradually impressed by the young marshal's personality, and he was also abandoned by the secret service organization. The young marshal trusted the butler very much, and he would tell him about some things that could not be known to outsiders. At the memorial service, the old man also unveiled three things that the young marshal did not know.
The first thing is that the young marshal mentioned in front of him three times that he wanted to go back to the northeast to see, which was also the biggest regret in his life;
The second thing is that he personally founded Northeastern University, and when he heard that the school was still there after the founding of the People's Republic of China, he hoped to go back and see it, and even sent a photo of the university to someone;
The last thing is that the young marshal was guarded by more than 100 gendarmes until 1988, when the people monitoring him could make up four tables at a time.

As Zhang Xueliang himself said, his life ended after the age of 36. He has always been patriotic and has contributed to the nation, and when people remember him, they are both impressed and strangled. Even Chairman Mao said that "he is a national hero who makes the CCP regret."
