This person is the famous General Wang Yaowu of the Nationalist Army, everyone should still be very familiar, Wang Yaowu is definitely a famous general on the anti-Japanese battlefield, and the level of military command is indeed extremely superb, and he is also the only one among so many generals in the Nationalist Army who has defeated General Su Yu, and at one time I was also very depressed, of course, the final result was that Wang Yaowu was captured by our People's Liberation Army in 1948.
Wang Yaowu, a native of Tai'an County, Shandong Province, also attended a private school when he was a child, but with the decline of his family, Wang Yaowu had to drop out of school to start a living, and the days of part-time work let Wang Yaowu know that the old China was unbearable at that time, so he had the idea of joining the army and serving the country in his heart.
In 1924, it was learned that the Whampoa Military Academy was enrolling, so Wang Yaowu was successfully admitted to the Whampoa Phase III, and Wang Yaowu, who really began to emerge, was still in the Eastern Crusade, because of the extreme bravery of the battle, so he was valued by the superior leaders.
So why did General Su Yu lose to Wang Yaowu in which battle?
It was in 1934, when Su Yu was serving as chief of staff in the Red Tenth Army, and there were three divisions under its command, namely the 19th Division, the 20th Division, and the 21st Division, and Wang Yaowu was serving as the brigade commander of the Supplementary New First Brigade in the Nationalist Army, and it was not long after that, the Battle of Tanjiaqiao broke out.
Before the battle of Tanjiaqiao broke out at that time, the purpose of our Red Tenth Army was to annihilate Wang Yaowu's supplementary new brigade, and it was in the form of ambush warfare, Su Yu had already planned it, first arranged for the Red Army to ambush on both sides of Tanjiaqiao, and then immediately launched an attack after Wang Yaowu's troops entered the encirclement.
It can be said that Su Yu's strategy was correct, but what he did not expect was that after Wang Yaowu's brigade was attacked, instead of retreating, he looked for an opportunity to break through the heavy siege, and the reason for being able to break through the heavy siege was mainly because there were problems between several divisions of the Red Army, and the coordinated operation was not well coordinated, which led to the strength of these divisions not being twisted into a rope, and finally failing to achieve its goal, and also leading to the Red Army losing the battle.
Just after the defeat of the Battle of Tanjiaqiao, the Red Tenth Army can be said to have suffered quite large losses, and it was surrounded not long after that, and only a few Red Army broke through in the end, so when General Su Yu recalled it later, he still felt helpless about this battle.
After that, Wang Yaowu did not fight with our Eighth Route Army in the War of Resistance Against Japan, and in addition, in the battle against the Japanese army, Wang Yaowu's unit was indeed extremely brave, and the battle results were also very good, and in 1939 he was promoted to the commander of the 74th Army, which was the predecessor of Zhang Lingfu's reorganized 74th Division, the absolute "Royal Forest Army"!
After the outbreak of the Liberation War, Wang Yaowu came face to face with our People's Liberation Army again, and after Wang Yaowu came to Shandong, he met su yu again, and in the Battle of Jinan in 1948, due to Wu Huawen's defection, Wang Yaowu was finally captured by our army.
Later, Wang Yaowu was imprisoned in Gongdelin Prison for reform, and in 1959 he became one of the first Kuomintang war criminals to be pardoned and released from prison, and he was also assigned to the work of the Commissioner of Literature and History by New China, Wang Yaowu died of illness in 1968 in the Beijing People's Hospital, and 12 years later he was honorably buried in the Babaoshan Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery in Beijing.
