Unfortunately, the great revolution, which lasted less than two years, soon failed, and Chiang Kai-shek and Wang Jingwei successively launched counter-revolutionary coups.

In July 1936, Yu Yifu fought to join the Communist Party. During the Liberation War, Yu Yifu was elected chairman of Nenjiang Province by the election of the party organization. The following year, he was transferred to the chairmanship of Heilongjiang Province. At that time, Nenjiang and Heilongjiang were still two separate people's governments. Before the victory of the civil war, Yu Yifu had been engaged in the restoration of agriculture and industry in the Heilongjiang region.

It provided a great guarantee for the logistical work of the Liaoshen Campaign.
