On the evening of November 24, 1948, seven columns of the Central Plains Field Army attacked in all directions, encircling the Huang Wei Corps in the Shuangduiji area. The Twelfth Corps led by Huang Wei had jurisdiction over 4 corps and 1 rapid column of the 10th, 14th, 18th, and 85th, with a total of more than 120,000 people, most of whom were equipped with American weapons, and were one of Chiang Kai-shek's elite corps, of which the 18th Army was one of the "five main forces" of Chiang Kai-shek's army.

Huang Wei was very reluctant after being surrounded, and ordered the troops to break through desperately, because this unit was a descendant of Jiang Jun, and its combat effectiveness was very strong, so the battle was very difficult. On the 27th, Huang Wei selected four divisions to force a breakthrough, but in the process of breaking through, an incident occurred, Liao Yunzhou, commander of the 110th Division of the 85th Army, was an underground party member, and he had already controlled this unit, and in the process of the breakthrough, Liao Yunzhou led the 110th Division to revolt, breaking Huang Wei's military deployment.
By December 2, more than 100,000 of Huang Wei's corps were compressed into a narrow area centered on double stacks and less than five kilometers in circumference. However, when Nakano wanted to launch an all-out attack on it, he found that the combat effectiveness of this unit was very strong, and coupled with the fact that Nakano lost all his heavy weapons when he advanced into Dabie Mountain, Nakano's strength alone could not eat the Huang Wei Corps, and there was a risk of being broken through by it. Under these circumstances, the Huaye Third Column, the Seventh Column, the 13th Column, and the Huaye Special Forces Column, under the leadership of Chief of Staff Chen Shiqu, carried a large number of heavy artillery to urgently reinforce Nakano.
Beginning on 3 December, Nakano and Hwano's reinforcements launched an all-out assault on the double pile. On December 4, Nakano and The officers and soldiers of Huaye encountered a hard bone, that is, The Great King Zhuang. At that time, the 33rd Regiment of the 118th Division of the 18th Army was guarding Dawangzhuang, which was known as the Tiger Regiment, with more than 3,000 people in the regiment, all composed of veterans of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and their combat effectiveness was very strong. Dawangzhuang was only a few miles away from the commander of the 12th Corps, and the strategic position was very important, so Huang Wei put his number one elite troop on it.
The first to attack Dawangzhuang were the 58th regiment and the 60th regiment of the 20th Division of the Seventh Column of Huaye, which formed three battalions and drove out the tiger regiment of Dawangzhuang in one turn, but the tiger regiment quickly counterattacked and recaptured most of Dawangzhuang, and finally only the 59th regiment retreated to the southwest corner of Dawangzhuang. The 46th Regiment of the 6th Column of Nakano, which was adjacent to the position, took the initiative to rush to the aid of the 7th Column of Huaye, and the destruction of one house after another on both sides, the howitzer shells of the two sides fell like raindrops in the village, and finally the 33rd Regiment was completely destroyed, and after the war, there was no intact house in the entire Dawangzhuang.
After the Tiger Regiment was destroyed, the Xiangyang Battalion of the 49th Regiment of the 6th Column and 17th Brigade of Nakano and the Luoyang Battalion of the 23rd Regiment of the 8th Division of the 3rd Column of Huaye knocked down the Jiangudui in one fell swoop, and the headquarters of the 12th Corps was exposed to the strike range of the officers and men of Nakano Huaye. At dusk on the 15th, Huang Weihu ordered the troops to break through. In the process of breaking through, Huang Wei, commander of the 12th Corps, Wu Shaozhou, deputy commander and commander of the 85th Army, Yang Botao, commander of the 18th Army, Qin Daoshan, commander of the Tenth Army, and other generals were captured, and only deputy commander Hu Lian drove a broken tank out of the encirclement.
