He Bingyan was born on February 5, 1913, in a farming family in Liujiachang, the ninth district of Songzi City, Hubei Province, and his mother died when he was nine years old, and because of his family's poverty, he had to go to the family to herd cattle at the age of eleven.
In order to survive, he also worked as a smith, learned to kill pigs and strike iron, no matter how tired he was, he persevered, because he was oppressed and bullied since childhood, he hated the old society. He Bingyan, who lost his mother, grew up with his father, so his father's influence on him was huge. In 1929, he joined He Long with his father and led the Fourth Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, and in June of the same year joined the Communist Party of China.
In 1932, due to his excellent performance in the army, He Bingyan came to the Xiangxi Red Army School to study and served as a district captain under the arrangement of the organization, and after graduation, he was arranged to serve as the district captain of the red 3 army pistol brigade.
In the fourth "anti-encirclement and suppression" campaign in the Xiang'e Western Soviet District, He Bingyan took the initiative to ask for help, led his troops to rush into the enemy's encirclement, and received the prominent siege of our Red 8th Division.

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, He Bingyan served as the commander of the 716th Regiment of the 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army, and he Bingyan hated this group of bandits who burned and looted in our country.
He knew very well that the weapons and equipment of the Japanese army were at the advanced level in the world at that time, and it was certainly not feasible to lead the troops to confront the Japanese army.
So he led his troops into Ningwu and Shenchi in the northern section of the Pu Railway, mobilized the masses in the rear of the enemy, and carried out guerrilla warfare with the enemy.
Fighting on the battlefield once is a huge risk, and He Bingyan has also been injured many times in the battle, but the sixth time is the most unforgettable for him!
In 1935 at the Battle of Wawutang
He Bingyan's right arm was unfortunately destroyed by the enemy's shells, and the entire right arm was blown into a meat paste by the bomb, and all the bones were broken, leaving only a little skin attached to the shoulder.
At that time, the medical conditions were very backward, in order to save He Bingyan's life, only saw off his arm, but the problem came, there was no medical equipment and anesthetics in the infirmary.
In a very critical situation, the comrade-in-arms found a saw, and He Bingyan, who also knew the medical conditions of the field hospital, asked someone to find a cloth to bite on the mouth, and signaled that the staff could start.
In this way, He Bingyan endured great pain, and insisted on more than two hours without anesthesia, and the operation was successfully concluded, and when the comrades-in-arms took the cloth out of his mouth, they found that the cloth had been bitten by He Bingyan.
He Bingyan, who lost his right arm, did not lose his decadence, and he still held a great heat pillow for the Japanese cause.
On October 16, 1937, in order to achieve the goal of ambushing the Japanese army, He Bingyan led his troops to the village of Caiwo, more than 10 kilometers southwest of Yanmen Pass, after a three-day rapid march, to ambush the Japanese army.
