He Bingyan dared to fight on the battlefield without fear of death, and was very brave. On December 22, 1935, when our troops were intercepted by two enemy divisions, the enemy's firepower was very strong, and our frontal troops failed to charge several times, and the battlefield fell into a stalemate. In order to quickly open the situation, He Long ordered He Bingyan's troops to join the battle from the left flank.
After receiving the order, He Bingyan commanded the team to launch a charge, and he did not listen to the advice of the guards, and also joined the attack. He Bingyan grabbed the machine gun in the hands of one of the soldiers, and then fought with the soldiers, and shouted in his mouth:
"Rush, suppress the enemy!"
Encouraged by the commander, everyone was more aggressive and wanted to end the battle quickly.
At that time, a shell landed next to He Bingyan, and the guards pushed him in time, and before he could speak, the bomb had already exploded. He Bingyan suffered a severe blow to his right arm because of this shell, and when The Minister of Health, He Biao, looked at it and thought that if he did not perform amputation immediately, it would endanger the life of General He Bingyan.

Insist on playing for three more hours to buy time for He Bingyan's surgery!
He Biao, the minister of health of the Second Red Front, replaced the manual saw with a carpentry saw and morphine instead of anesthesia, and prepared for surgery. However, He Bingyan refused to use morphine, covered his mouth with a towel, and survived the operation.
After the operation, the troops were transferred, and when the troops settled down, He Long came to visit He Bingyan. At that time, He Bingyan said with a weeping voice:
"Mr. He, can I still fight?"

For General He Bingyan, Elder He always valued him very much and admired his ability very much. During the Liberation War, He Bingyan encountered enemy troops and eventually abandoned his horse and fled, but because he did not have the means of communication at hand, he could not report his situation in time. Be considerate of subordinates
He Bingyan usually looks bad, but in fact, he treats his subordinates quite well. In the Battle of Huanglong in 1947, He Bingyan led his troops to attack the enemy target Zishan position. However, the enemy's firepower was fierce, resulting in excessive casualties of the troops, and the enemy army was not conquered in a short period of time.
For this reason, He Bingyan was also reprimanded by General Peng, and according to the recollection of General Liao Hansheng, he saw that He Bingyan was blue in the face, quarreled with President Peng on the phone, and dropped the phone. He Bingyan can remember the names of the people around him, as long as he has touched them once, he can remember the other party next time.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, He Bingyan served as the commander of the Chengdu Military Region, and although his status and life improved, he still liked to be with the masses. When there was nothing to do, He Bingyan would talk to the soldiers about martial arts and chat with the nurses in the military compound, without any shelf at all.
He Bingyan was injured many times during the war years and his physical condition was not too good, so everyone hoped that he could live in Beijing for treatment. However, this idea was rejected by He Bingyan, who said:
"I am the commander of the Chengdu Military Region, and my post is in Chengdu."
On July 1, 1960, General He Bingyan died of illness at the age of 47. On July 5, at a public ceremony for General He Bingyan, 200,000 soldiers and civilians braved the rain to send the general off.
