2024 is a key year for the implementation of the "Outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of the People's Republic of China and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035" and the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Modern Logistics" on the construction of a modern logistics system. In order to cope with the new changes under the new pattern, accelerate the development of new quality productivity, further promote the high-quality development and construction of the Chinese-style modern logistics system, promote the construction of the logistics discipline system, theoretical system and talent training system, and give full play to the leading role of excellent logistics books, the China Logistics Society and the National Logistics Vocational Education and Teaching Steering Committee decided to carry out the selection of the 9th "Wuhua Book Award" from June to October 2024, and the "24th China Logistics Academic Annual Conference" held in November 2024 on the awards.

"Wuhua Book Award" is held every two years, the award has been strongly supported by various scientific research institutions, colleges and universities, publishing units, enterprises and institutions, etc., through eight selections, a total of 286 kinds of logistics books have been awarded, which has had a great impact on the industry. This selection will continue to play an active role in the selection of the "Wuhua Book Award", focus on new technologies, new models and new formats of new productivity in the field of logistics, accelerate the innovation of logistics technology and management, promote the research of new concepts, new methods, new technologies, new cases and new trends in the field of logistics, and better introduce foreign advanced logistics academic achievements, establish a scientific and theoretical system to support the development of the modern logistics industry in the mainland, promote the academic prosperity of the logistics field, and promote the high-quality development of the logistics industry in the mainland.

The relevant matters related to the selection of the 9th "Wuhua Book Award" are hereby notified as follows.

01. Judging Body

The "Wuhua Book Award" was organized and selected by the China Logistics Society and the National Logistics Vocational Education and Teaching Steering Committee, and was undertaken by the editorial department of Logistics Research.

02. Award setting

The "Wuhua Book Award" consists of five categories: logistics academic monographs, logistics undergraduate and graduate textbooks, logistics vocational education textbooks, foreign logistics book introduction editions, and procurement and supply chain management, with first, second and third prizes in each category.

03. Scope of Awards

The State Press and Publication Administration approved the establishment of publishing units officially published and publicly issued logistics books can participate in the evaluation, and the applicants can be scientific research institutions, colleges and universities, publishing units, enterprises and institutions or individual translators.

The scope of entries for this year's "Wuhua Book Award" is logistics books published from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2023 (within two years) (subject to the publication time recorded on the copyright page, not printing time), which can be a single book or a complete set of books.

04. Award conditions

Books must meet the following criteria. 1. Strong political ideology, guided by Marxism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the important thought of the "Three Represents", the Scientific Outlook on Development, and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. 2. It has high ideological value, scientific value or high theoretical value and academic value. 3. The social benefits are significant, close to the reality, close to the industry, close to the readers, have a great impact on the development of the logistics industry and the training of logistics talents, and are beneficial to the development of the logistics industry and the progress of science and technology. 4. It has a wide range of practical application value in the logistics industry, and has great reference value for government decision-making. 5. It is forward-looking, feasible and innovative. 6. It is deeply loved by readers such as logistics practitioners and teachers and students of colleges and universities, and has a certain circulation and influence. 7. The quality of the editing and publishing of books must meet the excellent standards of the "Regulations on the Management of Book Quality" (Order No. 26 [2004] of the General Administration of Press and Publication of the People's Republic of China). Works that have participated in other award activities can also participate in the selection of this award (the organizer, name and grade of the award must be indicated).

05. Declaration work

(1) Application process: 1. The applicant unit or individual can download the official website of the China Society of Logistics or request the recommended application form of the 9th "Wuhua Book Award" from the editorial department of Logistics Research (including non-textbooks and textbooks). 2. The applicant unit or individual needs to fill in the recommended declaration form according to the category of the declared book. 3. The applicant unit or individual shall mail the paper application materials and sample book to the editorial department of "Logistics Research" (see below for specific address). (2) Application requirements: 1. The application materials require that the reporting unit or individual shall submit two copies of the recommended declaration form for the declared books and two copies (sets) of the declared books. The recommendation declaration form should be signed and recommended by at least one logistics expert or a person with a senior technical title in the relevant specialty, and the recommending unit can be the secondary college of the school. All entries will not be returned, and the reporting unit or individual is requested to keep the backup materials by themselves. 2. The application time requirements are requested for the reporting unit or individual to complete the mailing of paper application materials and sample books before August 20, 2024 (subject to the postmark date). If the paper application materials and samples are not mailed, they will not be able to enter the review process.

06. Composition of the Judging Committee

The review committee of the 9th "Wuhua Book Award" is composed of the executive director unit of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, the executive director of the China Society of Logistics, the member of the Teaching Steering Committee of Logistics Management and Engineering in Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education, the member of the National Logistics Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee, and well-known experts and scholars in the logistics industry. The director and deputy director of the general review committee shall be served by experts from the China Society of Logistics, and the specific work will be organized and implemented by the editorial department of "Logistics Research".

07. Award principles

1. In accordance with the principles of fairness and impartiality, the list of review experts for each "Wuhua Book Award" will not be announced. 2. The review experts of the "Wuhua Book Award" shall be subject to a recusal system, and if the members of the review committee apply for the 9th "Wuhua Book Award", they will not be allowed to serve as judges of this year. 3. No more than 3 works should be declared by the same translator.

4. The evaluation rules and standards shall be formulated separately.

08. Incentives

After the results of the award are confirmed, the award certificate will be awarded by the China Logistics Society at the "24th China Logistics Academic Annual Conference" in November 2024 (the time and place of the meeting will be notified separately), and will be promoted through "Logistics Research" and other relevant media.
