"Hulk" Mark Ruffalo has not yet finished his Marvel superhero movie series, and his recent new World War II thriller film is far from the Adventures of the Avengers. He is currently joining a 4-episode thriller set in World War II, The Light We Can't See.

Based on Anthony Dole's award-winning novel of the same name, Loberti will play the main character, Mary Lauer, a blind girl with secrets, starring Ruffalo, Hugh Laurie and Aria Mia Loberti. Ruffalo will play her father, the head of the locksmith at the Natural History Museum in Paris.

The Light We Can't See tells the story of Mary Raul's encounter with a German soldier named Werner.

As both try to survive the ruins of war in occupied France, Marie-Raul's father had another concern: to protect his daughter and the secret gems they carried from the Nazis. Hugh Laurie will play the eccentric and reclusive Etienne LeBron in the film adaptation, a World War I hero who secretly recorded radio broadcasts for the French Resistance.

In addition to an impressive cast, The Light We Can't See also assembles an impressive behind-the-scenes team. Steven Knight, the screenwriter of Blood Gang, will be the screenplay writer, and Shaun Levy, the director of Stranger Things and Liberty Guy, will be the director. This isn't the first time Mark Ruffalo and Sean Levy have worked together, and later this year Ruffalo will also star in Project Adam, directed by Sean Levy, later this year.
