The online car market learned from Mercedes-Benz officials that in 2022 Mercedes-Benz will launch 21 new cars in the Chinese market, of which 8 are pure electric and plug-in hybrid models, including EQE sedan, new GLC, new C-class plug-in hybrid version, new S-class plug-in hybrid version, new AMG SL 63, AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+, Maybach S 680 4MATIC ingenuity couture debut version, mid-term redesign A-class, mid-term revamp GLE, EQE SUV and other models.
New GRC
The new domesticALLY PRODUCED GLC (code V254) will be put into operation at the Mercedes-Benz Yizhuang MRA plant in Beijing this year, with a planned annual production capacity of 120,000 units, and the new car is expected to be launched as soon as the second half of the year. The new GLC adopts a similar exterior and interior design to the C-class, and the size of the new car will be further extended, not excluding the possibility of a 7-seater model. In terms of power, the new GLC is expected to be equipped with a 1.5T+48V light hybrid engine for the first time, and continue to provide 2.0T engines, and the drivetrain is matched with a 9AT transmission. Referring to last year's replacement of the C-class, it is expected that the starting price of the new GLC will also be raised, possibly around 410,000 yuan.
EQE sedan
Based on the EVA 2.0 platform, the Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan is 4.96 meters long and has a wheelbase of 3.1 meters, and the exterior and interior are similar to the design of the new flagship sedan EQS. In terms of power, the Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 is equipped with a rear-mounted single motor, with a combined maximum power of 215 kW and a peak torque of 530 N·m, and the new car is equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 90.6 kWh, and the cruising range under WLTP conditions is 660 km. At present, the power battery used for EQE has also been trial production, and it is expected that the EQE car will be domestically produced as soon as this year.
New C-class plug-in hybrid version
Mercedes-Benz's new C-class plug-in hybrid version is based on the sport version of the model, and the appearance changes are reflected in the details, including the replacement of low wind resistance wheels, the left rear fender and the right side of the rear bumper to add a charging interface, and the new car interior is expected to be consistent with the fuel version. Referring to the overseas C-class plug-in hybrid version of the power, the domestic model is expected to be equipped with the M254 series 2.0T engine + motor combination, the maximum power of the motor is 95kW, the pure electric driving mileage under WLTP conditions is more than 100km, and the battery can be fully charged in 30 minutes in fast charging mode.
New S-class plug-in hybrid version
Mercedes-Benz's new S 580 e has been listed in the European market, this year will also be introduced to the domestic market, the appearance, interior and fuel version of the new car are basically the same, the main change is to add EQ POWER nameplate at the front fender, increase the charging interface at the left rear fender. In terms of power, Mercedes-Benz S 580 e is equipped with a 3.0T plug-in hybrid system, the maximum power of the engine is 270kW, the maximum power of the electric motor is 104kW, the pure electric endurance reaches 100km, the transmission system matches the 9-speed manual transmission, and in the fully charged state, the fuel consumption of the new car's 100 kilometers is only 0.7L-1L.
The new AMG SL 63
The Mercedes-AMG SL 63 is a replacement model for Mercedes-Benz's coupé SL, which is based on a new sports car architecture, independently developed by AMG, and has been fully upgraded in terms of appearance, interior, power, etc., and will replace the current AMG GT Roadster convertible. In terms of power, the AMG SL 63 is equipped with a 4.0T V8 twin-turbo engine, with a maximum power of 430 kW and a peak torque of 800 N·m, and the transmission system matches the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed transmission and 4MATIC four-wheel drive system, and the acceleration of 100 kilometers takes only 3.6 seconds. In addition, the AMG SL 55 is expected to be launched at the same time, and the new car is equipped with a 4.0T engine, with a maximum power of 350 kW, a peak torque of 700 N·m, and an acceleration of 3.9 seconds per 100 km/h.
AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+
The AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ features the AMG Exterior Sports Kit, where the interior is covered in a larger area of Alcantara fabric and carbon fibre trim for a more visual impact. In terms of power, the AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ is equipped with dual motors, a maximum power of 484 kW, a peak torque of 950 N·m, and an acceleration of only 3.8 seconds per 100 km/h. In addition, the optional AMG DYNAMIC PLUS kit is supported, and the maximum power of the motor is increased to 560 kW, the peak torque is increased to 1020 N·m, and the acceleration of 100 kilometers is shortened to 3.4 seconds. The new car is equipped with a battery pack of 107.8 kW·h, and the cruising range of different models of WLTP is 526-580 km.
Mid-term revamp of Grade A
Mercedes-Benz A-Class will take the lead in releasing mid-term redesign models overseas in the first half of the year, and domestic models are also expected to be listed simultaneously within the year. The overall change of the new A-class is not large, the details of the front face grille may be slightly adjusted, the front and rear bracketing shape will be more moving, and the front and rear LED light group design is closer to the C class, the interior is expected to be consistent with the current model, the only change or reflected in the steering wheel shape. In terms of power, the new car will continue to use the 1.3T engine, and the drivetrain will match the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Mid-term revamp of GLE
As a mid-term redesign, Mercedes-Benz's new GLE continues the styling of the current model, adjusting for the appearance details, the new car is equipped with a new style of double banner straight waterfall grille, the internal structure of the front and rear light groups will also be all adjusted, the interior change is to replace the new shape steering wheel, and will upgrade the latest MBUX system. Overseas new GLE will continue to use 2.0T, 3.0T engine, whether the domestic 2.5T engine will be replaced by a 3.0T engine is unknown, in addition to the new car plug-in hybrid model is also expected to be remodeled, equipped with 2.0T plug-in hybrid system. The new GLE drivetrain is mated to a 9AT gearbox and is equipped with a 4MATIC four-wheel drive system.
EQE SUV
Like the EQE sedan, the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is also based on the EVA 2.0 platform, and the new car will be released in the first half of the year. The body shape of the EQE SUV is very close to the previously released Maybach EQS SUV, and the details will continue the design language of the EQ family, including closed grilles, through-line light strips, etc., which is expected to provide a very low drag coefficient like the sedan. In terms of power, the EQE SUV will provide single-motor and dual-motor models, both of which are equipped with 90kW·h battery packs, of which the single-motor model has a maximum power of 215kW, a peak torque of 530N·m, and a maximum cruising range of about 600km.
