In the Whampoa Military Academy, famous students will be included in the Shunkou slip, such as "Wen you He Zhihan, Wu you Hu Zongnan, wen and Wu Li Mo'an", today let's take a look at the legendary life of Li Mo'an, a literary and martial all-rounder.

Li Mo'an was a fierce character on the battlefield, as early as the Eastern Expedition and the Northern Expedition, he had already begun to show his sharp edge, and he did not fall behind in the face of such great warlords as Chen Jiongming and Sun Chuanfang, and directly rose to the position of commander-in-chief of the group army because of his merits, and was one of the Huangpu generals whom Chiang Kai-shek relied on most at that time.
At the outbreak of the Battle of Xinkou, Li Mo'an's position was the commander of the 14th Army, and his main defense area was the Xinzhong area, which the Japanese attached great importance to, because the terrain was open and the tanks could be unimpeded, so the Japanese army concentrated heavy troops to attack here. Li Mo'an did not have an effective way to deal with tanks, and could only let soldiers light bottles filled with gasoline to burn tanks, so Li Mo'an's troops suffered heavy casualties. But Li Mo'an did not flinch, and in the end, only a few regiments on the front line were left, but he still used this fierce victory that lasted for 23 days to stop the Japanese army from moving south, and also consumed the enemy's living strength.
After that, Li Mo'an turned to guerrilla warfare and cooperated closely with the Eighth Route Army, the most famous of which was the night attack on Yangmingbao Airfield, our army and Li Mo'an's troops did not suffer any casualties, but blew up 24 Japanese aircraft.
Interestingly, in the Spring Festival of 1938, Li Mo'an spent the New Year at the headquarters of the Eighth Route Army, and together with him was The famous general of the Nationalist Army, Wei Lihuang, who was warmly received by Mr. Zhu, and the two sides also had profound exchanges on strategy and tactics.
In 1949, the Kuomintang was gone, and Chiang Kai-shek decided to flee to Taiwan. In order to make a comeback, he ordered Li Mo'an to go to Taiwan with him. However, Li Mo'an flatly refused, so he joined forces with 44 other former senior Kuomintang generals to continue to adhere to the legacy of Dr. Sun Yat-sen and cooperate with the Communists.
Chiang Kai-shek was very angry about this, but because of Li Mo'an's prestige and position in the Kuomintang army, he could not lay down the killer, but could only secretly win over, and did not expect that Li Mo'an would directly announce that he would withdraw from the military circles and would not go to Taiwan.
However, Li Mo'an did not stay on the mainland for the rest of his life, but remained abroad. But he always had the motherland in his heart, so he has always been committed to the peaceful reunification of the two sides of the strait, and he has also served as the president of the Whampoa Military Academy Alumni Association of China, and continues to run for the great cause of cross-strait reunification.
