"Chinese online literature has been regarded as one of the 'four wonders' of the contemporary world cultural industry, and online literature has become a cultural business card that 'speaks well of China's voice and exports Chinese ideas', and we will use literary research to help the development of online literature in the new era." Zhu Xiaofeng, director of the Digital Information Office of the Institute of Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, sighed.
On January 12, the "Literature Illuminates a Better Life - 2021 Searchlight Annual Book List Release and Reading Famous Artists Series Seminar LaunchIng Meeting" jointly sponsored by Literature and Art Daily, China Modern Literature Museum and Institute of Literature of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and co-organized by Tencent Group and Reading Group, landed at the China Museum of Modern Literature. Scholars, critics and online literature writers from literature and related fields were invited to the Museum of Modern Chinese Literature to discuss the relevance of online literature to the times.
At the first seminar held on the same day, experts and scholars such as Xu Zechen, winner of the Mao Dun Literature Award, Wang Xiang, researcher and critic of Lu Xun Literature Institute, and online writer Yuan Ye (pen name "Squid Who Loves Diving") had face-to-face exchanges.
In the field of online literature, Yuan Ye is the pioneer of the western fantasy arcane theme and the steampunk theme, and his representative works include "Extinction Catalogue" and "Arcane Divine Seat", among which the works "Martial Master" and "Lord of Mystery" have not only won many important awards in the industry, but also been permanently collected by the National Library.
Commenting on Yuan Ye's creative path, Wang Xiang believes that Chinese online novelists are recreating myths for human beings, and the "squid who loves diving" is a typical representative. "He gradually constructed his own myth on the basis of the world's mythological imagination resources, constructed the 'squid myth', and this 'squid myth' has many characteristics."
Cong Zhichen, associate professor at Peking University and visiting researcher at the Museum of Modern Chinese Literature, also commented on Yuan Ye's diverse creative style and the characteristics of his works. He said: "The creation of the squid is more in storytelling and structuring the world, and in the process of world architecture, it will inevitably unconsciously produce some kind of refinement of reality." ”
From the perspective of Yang Chen, vice president and editor-in-chief of Reading Group, Yuan Ye's creative process is a continuous exploration of new themes in online literature, while also seeking inspiration in real life, which is very representative of the online literature writer group. In Xu Zechen's view, if you want to write about your current life and understand the Chinese of the moment, "a very important path is to turn back." He believes that "this 'looking back' is not a simple retro, nor is it a rule, a chapter back, we find something for us to deal with the current life from the traditional literary narrative resources, folk narrative resources, and cultural resources." Yuan Ye believes that online literature is inseparable from family, friendship and love, "at the same time, it is also necessary to add some reflections on reality, family and country feelings, and the world in mind." ”
According to reports, the seminar will be held in the future, covering 20 first-class universities in China, such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Chinese Min University, Beijing Normal University, Fudan University, East China Normal University, etc., inviting young students to participate with experts and scholars, online literature writers, and discussing topics such as the development of online literature and the literary industry in the new era.
