Ces 2022 (Consumer International Show) ended on January 7 in Las Vegas, USA. In order to avoid traffic jams on the ground during the exhibition, many visitors chose to experience the LVCC Loop underground tunnel of Tesla CEO Elon Musk's "Boring Company". As a result, the "overturned" tunnel, which is said to "completely solve the problem of traffic jams", was actually stuck in traffic.
The LVCC Loop tunnel is also congested
In December 2016, Musk was stuck in the road, so he tweeted: "The traffic jam is driving me crazy!" I'm going to build a tunnel excavator and start digging tunnels." Less than an hour later, the project was officially named "The Boring Company," and 2 hours later he tweeted again: "We're really going to start digging tunnels." ”

In May 2021, Musk tweeted that the underground tunnel transportation system "Loop" of his tunneling company "The Boring Company" is ready. It wasn't long before the LVCC Loop dual tunnel system, located below the Las Vegas Convention Center, was officially put into operation.
It is reported that the length of this tunnel is about 1.3 kilometers, according to the company's initial planning, the tunnel design of this route has a maximum speed of more than 250 km / h, through 60 fully automated Tesla electric vehicles can transport more than 4400 passengers per hour to and from different pavilions, the future efficiency will be improved, and the ability to transport passengers per hour will exceed 5,000.
But the reality is that the maximum speed in the tunnel can only reach 64 km / h, which is far lower than tesla's previous publicity. Moreover, Tesla's autopilot is not currently supported and must be driven by a driver. In addition, some foreign netizens reflected that the road in the tunnel is too narrow, and there is no emergency lane, once a car fails, it will be very dangerous.
Fault code 500
Speaking of danger, Tesla has had more dangerous things happen some time ago. In December 2021, some Tesla owners received an error message "Fault Code 500", the mobile phone could not be connected to the vehicle, and about 500 owners were affected outside the locked car. Musk then said: "Because a configuration error overloaded network traffic, the owner could not connect to their car. We are sorry, but we will take steps to ensure that such incidents do not occur again. ”
In fact, this is no longer a Tesla server downtime. In April 2018, many car owners reported experiencing a long tesla app downtime. At the time, Tesla said it did do some planned maintenance, but it took longer than expected, causing the app to go down and last for hours. In September 2021, some owners also reported that Tesla could not be unlocked, was locked out of the car, and made emergency roadside assistance calls for nearly two hours that were not answered.
This is also the drawback of smart cars, just like our smart phones, there are often crashes, white Apples and so on. However, after all, the mobile phone will not affect our safety, if the car suddenly crashes in the high speed, the consequences can be imagined. Previously, 360 chairman Zhou Hongyi revealed that they had cracked Tesla's cloud system three times: Tesla's car networking system in 2014; cracked its Autopilot system in 2016; and Tesla's keyless entry and start PEPS system was breached in 2018. It can be seen that the relatively closed Tesla system is not perfect, and this casts a shadow on the security of intelligent networked cars.
Cybertruck will be delayed delivery
As for security issues, we will not discuss them in depth for the time being, Tesla, as a leader in this field, is also the company with the most exposed problems and the earliest enterprises. It can only be said that in the future of safe travel, there is still a long way to go. Musk's recent "rollover" is not only the first two things. Recently, Tesla deleted the production information of the Cyberruck model in 2022 on the official website, and Cybertruck may be delayed in delivery. In addition, Tesla also deleted the order price on its order page, and many consumers who held the coin speculated that the price of the car would eventually be adjusted.
Tesla has a backlog of more than 1.25 million Cyberrocks, which were scheduled for official delivery in 2023. But as it stands, Tesla doesn't seem to be delivering on time. Previously, there were also consumers who hoped that Cyberruck would have more color options. But from the information revealed by Musk, Cybertruck can only be delivered in steel gray, that is, the primary color. Since Cyberteruck's body is made of cold-rolled steel, it is almost impossible to paint it. Of course, color is only an add-on, and buyers who have already placed orders are more concerned about Cyberteruck's scheduling.
In summary, even if Tesla has so many "overturning" things, it still has not affected its sales. Recently, Tesla also released its annual sales in 2021, with a total of 936172 vehicles. Among them, 308,600 electric vehicles were delivered in the fourth quarter alone, a record high. In the Chinese auto market, Tesla's main models are the Model 3 and Model Y, with sales of more than 50,000 units for many consecutive months.
It can be said that in the new energy market, Tesla is still a rider, far ahead of other opponents. Musk is very satisfied with such results, and shortly after Tesla announced the year-end results, he updated his tweet on the social platform and said, "2022, Here we go." As for whether Musk can achieve the previous bragging bull (Tesla plans to achieve annual sales of "20 million" models in 2030), let's see the results of 2022.
