Musk's "anti-traffic jam" underground high-speed tunnel was also blocked.
The 2022 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) recently opened in Las Vegas, USA. To avoid traffic jams on the ground, many viewers chose to experience The Boring Company's LVCC Loop underground tunnel. But this underground tunnel, which is called "completely solving the problem of traffic jams", is actually stuck in traffic.
Online video shows that the driver drove into the tunnel for less than a minute, the vehicle encountered a traffic jam, and 6 or 7 cars could be seen in front of the tunnel moving slowly, and the speed dropped to about 8 kilometers per hour.

Official information shows that the LVCC Loop underground tunnel system is a three-stop transport system consisting of 2.74 kilometers of tunnels, including two tunnels and three stations, costing a total of $52.5 million. It connects the new showroom and three campuses at the Las Vegas Convention Center, shortening the 45-minute walk to about 2 minutes. The tunnel is designed for a maximum speed of 250 km/h, vehicles can operate at a maximum speed of more than 200 km/h, and can accommodate 4,400 passengers per hour.
Tunnels are designed to safely evacuate passengers and minimize potential sources of ignition or water. The tunnel has a two-way ventilation system that can discharge smoke, and is equipped with camera coverage, emergency exit, fire detection system, fire extinguishing system and fire level 1 emergency system throughout the process. Passengers can communicate directly with the operation control center 24 hours a day through cellular services and WiFi, etc.
Although it encountered some traffic jams, on the whole, the LVCC Loop's performance during the CES exhibition was outstanding.
According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, the transportation system successfully transported about 15,000 to 17,000 people a day during the Consumer Electronics Show, accounting for almost half of the show attendees. Boring revealed that the average waiting time at the three stations during the exhibition was less than 15 seconds. The average ride takes less than two minutes, basically meeting the design targets. Even in the congested moments of the video, the overall traffic time has increased from the previous two minutes to three minutes.
The lvcc loop unveiling was important to Boring: The company is negotiating similar projects with cities across the country. The LVCC Loop tunnel, the company's first commercial project, offers an excellent showcase opportunity.
If the Las Vegas project is successful, other cities could be encouraged to sign contracts with The Rising Company. Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and San Bernardino County, California, are currently negotiating with the company at different stages for their respective tunnel projects.
