The spirited Cao Cao was not satisfied, but set his sights on the Jianghuai region and Jiangdong. Cao Cao wanted to destroy Liu Biao and Jiangdong Sun Quan of Jingzhou in one fell swoop, expand his sphere of influence to the south, completely end the chaotic disputes since the end of the Han Dynasty, establish a grand cause of unifying the world, and create a brand-new unified dynasty.
In September of the thirteenth year of Jian'an, Cao Cao commanded a large army, and the soldiers pointed directly at the Xiangyang area of Jingzhou. The warlord Liu Biao, who had been in Jingzhou for many years, fell ill and died at this juncture, and his son Liu Chun was a cowardly wreck, who did not even have the courage to fight with Cao Cao for two rounds, and did not say anything about the surrender of Kaesong. Liu Bei was attached to Liu Biao at that time and stationed in Fancheng. Unwilling to surrender to Cao Cao, he led his centaurs to flee south at night. Cao Cao took advantage of the victory to pursue and reached the north bank of the Yangtze River in one breath, and Sun Quan in Jiangdong also felt a great threat.
At the moment of crisis, liu bei and Sun Quan, two armed groups, in order to survive, finally formed an alliance against Cao Cao's army. In the Battle of Chibi, Cao Cao's northern army was not accustomed to water warfare, and although its strength was absolutely superior, it still suffered an unprecedented defeat under the resistance of Sun Liu's combined forces, with heavy casualties, almost burning the warships, and greatly damaged its strength. The Battle of Chibi became a turning point in the historical development of the Three Kingdoms, and the situation of the Three Kingdoms was formed, and Cao Wei never thought of transitioning to Jiangnan until his demise.
The Battle of Chibi not only profoundly affected the Three Kingdoms, but also affected a woman's life. She was Sun Quan's sister, Lady Sun Shangxiang, and there are also historical records that her name was Sun Ren. After the Battle of Chibi, the relationship between Liu Bei and Sun Quan entered a honeymoon period, and the friendly exchanges and interactions between the two sides were frequent. In order to show favor to Liu Bei, Sun Quan married his sister Sun Shangxiang to Liu Bei, and the two families became in-laws, Sun Quan was not only ally with Liu Bei, the former also became Liu Bei's brother-in-law, and the two families were as good as glue.
Liu Bei was more than half a hundred years old at the time, Sun Shangxiang was still a young woman at that time, beautiful and delicious, delicate and attractive, it can be said that Liu Bei made a lot of money. However, Zhuge Liang had a clear understanding of this. The Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms records that Zhuge Liang once said a sentence that vividly stated Liu Bei's situation at that time: "The north was afraid of Cao Gong's strength, the east was afraid of Sun Quan's persecution, and recently he was afraid that Lady Sun would change under her elbows, and when Si si was in a hurry, she was in a dilemma", and impressively listed Lady Sun with Cao Cao and Sun Quan as one of Liu Bei's three strong enemies.
Why was Sun Shangxiang, who was as delicate as a flower, listed by Zhuge Liang as Liu Bei's enemy? Judging from the historical records, Zhuge Liang's remarks are still very reasonable. First, Sun Shangxiang has a strong and fierce personality, does not love red clothes and loves arms, does not like to depict dragons and embroidered phoenixes, and only likes to dance knives and guns.
The Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms records that Lady Sun was "talented and fierce, had the style of a brother, and served more than a hundred servants, all of whom personally held swords and stood", accompanied by more than a hundred maids holding steel knives at all times, and they all only obeyed Sun Shangxiang.0 Every time Liu Bei enters the boudoir, it is like being in the Dragon Pond Tiger Cave, "every time the first lord enters, the heart is always frozen", life is always in a state of threat, once Sun Shangxiang turns his face, Liu Bei is worried about his life in an instant.
Secondly, although Sun Shangxiang married Liu Bei, deep in his heart there was no "marrying a chicken with a chicken and marrying a dog with a dog", and regarded Liu Bei as a relative. What she is always thinking about is her mother's family, Wu Guo. The relationship between the two is very tense. The "Youdi Jisheng" records that soon after Lady Sun married, she separated from Liu Bei and built a small city for her to live in.
The most excessive thing is that when Liu Bei's western expedition to Yizhou, Lady Sun not only did not accompany her, but wanted to abandon Liu Bei and return to Eastern Wu. It didn't matter if she left, Lady Sun harbored evil intentions and wanted to wrap up the young lord Liu Chan. Liu Chan was born to Lady Gan, not Sun Shangxiang's flesh and bones, and was also Liu Bei's only descendant. Sun Shangxiang wanted to bring Liu Chan to the State of Wu, and wanted to use this control to blackmail Liu Bei, and his fierceness was clearly revealed. Fortunately, her plot failed, otherwise Liu Bei would henceforth be subject to people, and the consequences would be unimaginable. Therefore, zhuge Liang listed Sun Shangxiang as one of Liu Bei's three strong enemies, which is still very reasonable.
