Because his family was very poor, he only attended private school for four years, and finally had to drop out of school early to work in order to support the family. When Hou Lixiang was 16 years old, he accidentally learned that the revolution in Jiangxi was rising, and he joined the torrent of revolution by mistake.
Hou Lixiang on the battlefield was not afraid of life and death, and almost every time he charged at the front, he was affectionately called "Desperate Sanlang" by his comrades-in-arms. Under the introduction of company commander Peng Shaohui, he successfully became an excellent Communist Party member in our country.
Most of the soldiers in the revolutionary ranks were children of poor families, and when comrades-in-arms asked Hou Lixiang what to call him, he always replied that his name was "Lixiang".
