In modern China, there was a bitter history of extreme humiliation, and successive years of war made the lives of the common people miserable, and many people also embarked on the road of revolution. During the revolution, some soldiers died heroically, and some soldiers were seriously injured in the war and had to leave the army to go home for recuperation, and then they were slowly forgotten. The old man who said that he was the commander of the Red Army during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, but no one believed him, and finally the commander personally came forward to confirm his identity. What's going on here?

This old man's name was Hou Lixiang. Born in 1912. The elderly Hou Lixiang attended a private school for several years when he was a child, and then because of the limited conditions at home, he had to drop out of school and go home to help his parents farm. When he was a teenager, Hou Lixiang joined the revolutionary ranks and became a revolutionary fighter. Hou Lixiang on the battlefield had courage and strategy, and made outstanding military achievements.
In 1934, after the failure of the fifth anti-encirclement and suppression campaign, the main force of the central government was forced to implement a strategic shift, and the Road of the Long March of the Red Army was officially launched. At that time, Hou Lixiang also followed the troops and participated in the long march. During this period, Hou Lixiang performed prominently and became a company commander.
After the end of the Long March, Hou Lixiang became a subordinate of General Chen Geng, and after the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Hou Lixiang was entrusted with heavy responsibilities, and led his subordinates to fight against the enemy many times. However, in a battle, Hou Lixiang was unfortunately hit by an enemy bullet and was seriously injured, because of his serious injuries, Hou Lixiang had to leave the army and retire to his hometown to work as a farmer.
After returning to his hometown, Hou Lixiang told the people in the village about his former red army commander in a conversation, and the people in the village did not believe him, but they still regarded him as a mental illness. In the later special period, Hou Lixiang was suppressed because he offended the cadres in the village, and for a time even survival became a problem, so naturally he was reluctant to mention his own affairs again.
Many years later, Hou Lixiang accidentally saw the news of his superior leader in a newspaper, and he immediately wrote a letter and sent it, hoping that the leader of that year could prove his identity. However, due to the backward communication technology at that time, the letter was sent for a long time before the leader received it. Finally, in 1974, the commander of the military region personally proved the identity of the elderly Hou Lixiang and let him get the treatment he deserved. In 1991, the elderly Hou Lixiang died of illness at the age of 80.
