With dangers abounding, how did the Red Army successfully pass through the Yi people's residential areas?
During the Long March, the Central Red Army crossed the Chishui River and the Jinsha River in four ways, and after nearly four months of fighting, finally jumped out of the encirclement circle surrounded by hundreds of thousands of Kuomintang troops. At this time, however, an insurmountable graben appeared in front of the Red Army, which was the Dadu River.
To enter the Dadu River, we must first pass through the Yi settlement area. Due to the oppression of the reactionary government, there is a deeper gap between the Yi compatriots and the Han compatriots. The Central Red Army was attacked by the Yi people when passing through the Yi ghettos, but the Red Army strictly adhered to the Party's ethnic policy, avoided armed conflict, and gradually won the trust of the Yi compatriots.
At that time, Xiao Yedan, the leader of the Guji family branch of the Yi people, saw that the Red Army was different from the previous army, and he hoped to communicate with the Red Army. The conversation between Xiao Yedan and Comrade Liu Bocheng was very speculative, and the two became brothers and made an alliance of blood on the Yi Sea, which is the famous Yihai alliance.

How do the warriors cross the Dadu River?
With the help of the Yi compatriots, the Central Red Army successfully passed through the Yi area and came to the Anshunchang Ferry on the banks of the Dadu River. At this time, the Kuomintang army had already deployed at Anshun Field, implementing the strategy of "fortifying the wall and clearing the field", not only taking away all the ships, but also destroying all the equipment that could be used to cross the river.
At that time, there was a Sichuan army officer named Lai Zhizhong who owned a large number of properties in the local area, and in order to protect his own interests, he not only resisted the order to burn the street, but also secretly hid a wooden boat for escape, which made the Red Army desperate.
After the Red Army quickly occupied Anshun Field and found Lai Zhizhong's privately hidden ferry, Sun Jixian, commander of the 1st Battalion of the Red 1st Regiment, selected warriors to form a river crossing commando, and when it was about to approach the opposite bank, the enemy counterattacked madly. At the moment of a thousand gunshots, The sharpshooter Zhao Zhangcheng "three cannons to save the Long March" and covered the warriors who crossed the river to rush to the opposite bank.

After running three "marathons" in one day and night, they once again created miracles
Although the Red 1 Regiment successfully crossed the Dadu River, it was impossible to build a bridge because the water flow at the ferry was too rapid, and because of the lack of boats to cross the river, it was difficult for the large troops to cross the river in a short period of time. The Central Revolutionary Military Commission decided that the 1st Division and the Cadre Regiment of the 1st Red 1st Army would continue to cross the river from Anshunchang, and the rest of the troops would go straight to the Luding Bridge on the west bank of the Dadu River.
There are 160 kilometers from Anshun field to Luding Bridge, and the Red 4th Regiment suddenly received orders after walking 40 kilometers to reach Luding Bridge in one day, and at this time there were 120 kilometers left.
On May 29, 1935, the battle to capture the Luding Bridge began, and 22 officers and men of the 2nd Company of the Red 4th Regiment formed a commando team, braved the enemy's guns and bullets on the opposite bank, climbed the suspended iron cable to the opposite bank, and the follow-up officers and men followed the laying of wooden planks to restore the bridge deck. The Red Army finally conquered the graben with its tenacious and courageous style and fearless fighting spirit, and opened the way to the north.
