The Central Red Army immediately crossed the Dadu River through the Luding Bridge, making Chiang Kai-shek's attempt to turn the Red Army into "Shi Dakai's second" plan to become a failure. So also at the Dadu River, why did Shi Dakai, the wing king of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, wipe out the entire army that year?
First of all, due to various reasons, Shi Dakai failed to win the support of the local people and ethnic minorities until he arrived at the Dadu River, which seriously slowed down his marching speed, for example, Shi Dakai passed through the Yi area eight days slower than the Red Army, and the Qing army had time to mobilize superior forces to encircle Shi Dakai.
Secondly, Shi Dakai, who arrived at the Anshun field of the Dadu River, had completely lost the talent of the "Feather Wing Heavenly Dynasty" and made many mistakes in succession, such as not organizing the crossing of the river in time, not sending troops to seize the Luding Bridge in time after the Anshun Field crossing the river was hopeless, and not breaking through in time when the Qing army was about to close the siege.
Although the Dadu River did appear in Anshunchang at that time, there was a large flood that had not been encountered in a hundred years, which made it difficult for Shida to cross the river. However, Shi Dakai did not implement any rescue measures for three days, and after arriving at Anshun Field, Shi Dakai almost sat there waiting for the Qing army to surround him.
Finally, due to the Tianjing Incident and years of fruitless wandering operations, the Taiping Army led by Shi Dakai had long lost the will and cohesion to continue fighting, and Shi Dakai himself was also vague in his goal. One of the reasons why Shi Dakai did not cross the river in time was that he was uncertain between crossing the river north and going south.
Because of this, when the Qing army completed the encirclement, Shi Dakai laid down his weapons almost without resistance, and the same was true of the Shibu Taiping Army. It can be said that Shi Dakai's Taiping Army's will to persist in fighting has completely collapsed, and even if it is lucky enough to cross the Dadu River, it will not go far.
