Rong Hong, a genius in china's modern history. A native of Guangdong, he studied in Macau and Hong Kong since childhood, received an advanced Western education, and later studied in the United States, and was the first Chinese student to graduate from Yale University in the United States. After returning to Hong Kong, he and Hung Became Famous and the two became good friends. Both have a common view – learning from the advanced Western institutions makes China strong.

In 1858, after a long journey, Hong Rengui finally reached Nanjing to join Hong Xiuquan. Hong Xiuquan trusted Hong Rengui very much after the chaos in Tianjing, so he put Hong Rengui in power. Hong Renjie then formulated the "New Chapter of Senior Administration", learning from the Western powers from the three aspects of politics, economy and society, such as building railways, building companies, banks, and enterprises. However, the kingdom of heaven is in a state of war and cannot be pursued.

In 1860, Rong Hong also arrived in Nanjing and proposed a series of measures, which were affirmed by Hong Xiuquan. At that time, Rong Hong did not think much about it, just wanted to save the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, but to make China strong. However, Hong Xiuquan thought that these things should be discussed with the generals who were fighting outside, so Rong Hong was disappointed and left Tianjing.

Later, Rong Hong visited Zeng Guofan and helped establish the Jiangnan Manufacturing Bureau. He later participated in the Western Affairs Movement, the Restoration and Reform of the Law, and the Xinhai Revolution. He made great contributions to China's modernization, but unfortunately many people do not know him.
