Webmaster's House (ChinaZ.com) January 10 news: According to Nikkei Asia, Apple sought help from The Japanese car air-conditioning company Sanden two years ago and provided drawings for electric vehicles to Sanden.
In January 2020, a man claiming to be Apple's parts manager reportedly informed Japanese auto supplier Sanden that Apple wanted to build electric cars and showed schematics of electric vehicles and air conditioning parts.
Sanden is a leading manufacturer of automotive air conditioning components, and Apple and Sanden continue to discuss specific part requirements. However, due to financial difficulties due to the prevalence of COVID-19, Sanden applied to creditors for debt restructuring in June 2020, and Apple's cooperation negotiations were obviously unsustainable.
While the report did not provide any further details about the negotiations between the two companies, it further confirms Apple's long-rumored ambitions for electric vehicles.
In November 2021, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported that Apple was accelerating its project work and targeting electric vehicles with fully autonomous driving capabilities. Gurman said Apple aims to release in 2025, but the project has faced many setbacks and departures of key personnel over the years, so the timing of the launch is uncertain.
