On the evening of January 10, Honor CEO Zhao Ming released Glory's first folding screen mobile phone Magic V, priced from 9999 yuan. Brokerage analysis said that the strong recovery of the honor brand is an event with more than expected potential in the consumer electronics sector in 2022. Since December 2021, OPPO, Huawei, and Honor have successively released new folding screen mobile phones, and the folding display supported by flexible OLED technology is expected to break the physical form limitations of various electronic terminals. It is estimated that the global market shipments of folding screen mobile phones are expected to reach nearly 15 million units in 2022, doubling year-on-year.

Honor's first folding screen phone released
At the press conference, Zhao Ming compared the Honor Magic V with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3. According to reports, after expanding the screen, the Honor Magic V is better than the Apple iPad mini in all aspects.

Honor said that the Honor MagicV uses a 6.45-inch screen, and the screen ratio is as high as 90%. On the chip, honor Magic V is equipped with a new generation of Snapdragon 8 processor, using a 4nm process.
According to Zhao Ming, Honor Magic V is equipped with Honor's self-developed ultra-thin suspended water droplet hinge technology, integrating 213 high-definition zero devices, the mobile phone is only 14.3mm, and the aerospace-grade high-precision materials support 200,000 times of precision opening and closing.
Zhao Ming said that the glory Magic V expansion can bring a higher multi-tasking application split-screen experience, and users can chat on WeChat while watching the public account. Honor Magic V also supports information exchange and multi-screen interaction between multiple devices.
Honor said that Magic V is Honor's first mobile phone that supports independent security memory chips, plus the industry's original dual TEE security system, flagship security protection of data, adding two "locks" and a "safe" to the mobile phone to add "lost mode", even if the phone is lost, you can also remotely lock the sim card of the mobile phone, refuse to force shutdown, and hide incoming call messages.
In terms of color matching, Honor Magic V has three colors: titanium silver, bright black and burning orange. In terms of price, the 12GB+256GB version is priced at 9999 yuan, and the 12GB+512GB version is priced at 10999 yuan. Pre-sales open on January 10 and go on sale on January 18.
Guosen Securities analysis said that after independence in 2021, Glory has released a number of new machines, quickly gained a foothold and completed the attack on the high-end mobile phone market. In the third quarter of 2021, the domestic market share of Honor mobile phones recovered rapidly, and the industrial chain has the potential to exceed expectations in 2022. The strong recovery of the Honor brand is an event with more than expected potential in the consumer electronics sector in 2022.
Shipments will grow rapidly
From the price point of view, the current folding screen mobile phone price has been explored, the initial stand-alone price of about 10,000-20,000 yuan, Samsung GalaxyZ Flip3 price from 7599 yuan in August 2021, OPPO Find N price from 7699 yuan in December 2021, Huawei P50 Pocket price from 8988 yuan.
After the price is lowered, the folding screen mobile phone is favored by consumers. On January 10, according to oppo's release of news, OPPO Find N folding flagship mobile phone reservation volume exceeded 1 million.
CITIC Securities believes that folding mobile phones have the characteristics of portability, multi-purpose, flexibility, etc., optimistic about the cost reduction brought about by the improvement of the technical maturity of the folding screen mobile phone market, and it is expected that the future clamshell will dominate, and the mainstream price band will drop to 5,000 yuan to 8,000 yuan. In the future, with the downward shift of the price center, the folding screen mobile phone market is expected to grow at a high speed, and it is expected that the shipment volume will exceed 65 million units in 2025. The short-term market is still dominated by Samsung, and it is expected to occupy 60%-65% of the share in 2022; apple is expected to form a double-male hegemonic situation after entering the game, and it is expected that by 2025, Samsung and Apple folding screen mobile phones will occupy 35%-40% of the share. Xiaomi, Honor, OPPO, vivo and other manufacturers are expected to have a market share of 7%-8%, 4%-5%, 5%-6%, and 4%-5%, respectively.

Folding screen display module and electromechanical structure is the most critical, it is recommended to pay attention to the flexible display panel, protective cover, hinge, OCA optical adhesive, touch conductive film and other fields of investment opportunities.
