Burst of strength! For the first time, the iPhone 15 will be fully equipped with Apple's self-developed chips

In the field of chips, Apple's every move has attracted everyone's attention. Just recently, some media reported that Jeff Wilcox, the chief designer responsible for all the architecture design, signal integrity and power integrity of Apple's Mac system, announced his departure from Apple, and he is also the chief designer of the M1 chip. This is bad news for Apple, but there is also the latest good news that deserves everyone's attention.

According to Taiwan's Business Times, the latest news from the supply chain shows that the iPhone 14 launched by Apple in 2022 will be equipped with Samsung's 4nm process Qualcomm 5G data machine chip X65 and RF IC, with Apple's A16 application processor.

On the road to self-developed chips, Apple has been down-to-earth to finally achieve 100% use of self-developed chips on its own products, although this year is enough, but this goal is likely to be achieved in 2023. According to the report, the iPhone 15 released in 2023 will all use self-developed chips for the first time, of which the 5G chip will use TSMC's 5nm process, the RF IC will use TSMC's 7nm process, and the most important A17 application processor will use TSMC electrodes for advanced 3nm process for mass production.

It is reported that Apple's self-developed 5G chips and supporting RADIO frequency ICs have completed the design, and will begin trial production and sample delivery in the near future, and it is estimated that field tests will be carried out with major telecom manufacturers in 2022, and then put into mass production in 2023.
