Friends who like to watch costume dramas must have noticed early that the hairstyles of Qing Dynasty characters are different from those of previous dynasties. The hairstyle of qing dynasty men was dragging a braid, and the brain door was largely bare and slippery, unlike the men in the Han, Tang and Ming dynasties. This is because in the early years of the Qing Dynasty, the imperial family issued a "shaving order" that forced all Han Chinese to cut their hair.
The purpose of this is naturally to "go along with it." Those who are willing to shave their heads are regarded as willing to submit to the Qing Dynasty and belong to the "good people"; those who are unwilling are regarded as having a negative intention against the Great Qing and are killed. As for the leader of the shaving order, one is Dolgun and the other is the Hanchen Sun Zhizhuo.
In 1644, as soon as the Qing army entered the customs, Dorgon began to publicize the "shaving order". But because the defiance was too great, he had to cancel the plan. Who knew that Sun Zhizhu strongly emphasized the necessity of the "shaving order", and under his impetus, Dorgon re-examined the "shaving order" in June 1645, allowing everyone to cut their hair and braid within 10 days.
Why did Sun Zhizhi make such a suggestion? Let's start with his personal experience. Sun Zhizhu was a native of Zichuan County, Shandong Province, and was born in the nineteenth year of the Wanli calendar of emperor Mingshen (1591). He had a strong thirst for fame and fortune, and at the age of 31, Sun Zhixuan was admitted to the jinshi, and at that time the grand eunuch Wei Zhongxian was running rampant.
Sun Zhixuan saw that all the people who had climbed Wei Zhongxian had gained high positions, so he also ran to tie the knot. Sure enough, Wei Zhongxian looked at him differently, and Sun Zhixuan also lived a beautiful life. Unexpectedly, the Chongzhen Emperor later disposed of Wei Zhongxian with the "Ten Great Sins", and those who followed him suffered one after another.
Among these people, Sun Zhizhu can be described as special. At that time, the ministers all applied for the destruction of Wei Zhongxian's book "Three Dynasties Essentials" that Wei Zhongxian used to exclude dissidents and reverse black and white, but Sun Zhizhuo held the book and cried bitterly, crying and nostalgic for the past. The Chongzhen Emperor ordered him to be sent back to his hometown and did not ask for his life.
Sixteen years later, Sun Zhizhuo was summoned by the Qing Dynasty to become an official and made a right attendant of the Rebbe. Sun Zhizhuo was elated and grateful to the Qing Emperor, so he deliberately changed his hairstyle to the "money rat tail" left by the Manchu Qing ministers to show his loyalty to the Qing Dynasty. Unexpectedly, those Manchu Qing ministers looked down on him and laughed at him for being a soft bone.
When the Shunzhi Emperor ascended to the throne, The Manchus stood on one side and the Hanchens stood on the side. Sun Zhizhu could not fit into the circle of Manchu, and Hanchen hated his flattery of taking the initiative to shave his hair and did not want to be with him. Sun Zhizhi was so embarrassed that the more he thought about it after he returned, the more angry he became, so he wrote a piece of music and praised Dorgon's original decision.
After exaggerating, he suggested to the Shunzhi Emperor that His Majesty's new seat in the world naturally has a new atmosphere, and the old clothes and crowns of the Han people should change according to the Qing Dynasty, otherwise His Majesty will be too wronged. His words were exactly in line with Dorgon's wishes, and Dorgon followed the trend and introduced a mandatory shaving order.
This edict provoked countless revolts, and the number of Han chinese who died because they did not want to shave their heads is difficult to estimate. The "Siwen Daji" records: "When the head is shaved, there is no one who is exempted from the left; the money rat tail is almost fishy everywhere." "So what is the final outcome of Sun Zhizhuo? Two years later, he was stripped of his official position and sent back to his hometown, where he happened to bump into an uprising. The angry rebel army dismembered Sun Zhizhuo in the street, and all his family members were killed.
