Zhuge Liang's memoirs: Don't misunderstand my relationship with Liu Bei, it's really not so iron

Ancient society advocated the "three principles and five constants" and "five luns and eight virtues", in fact, the content is similar, and the latter is a supplement to the former.

The "program" is an example and a law. Whether it is the "Three Principles" or the "Five Luns", the first thing in the list is the relationship between the monarch and the subject.

Therefore, any relationship between a certain pair of emperors and famous courtiers in history will be passed down as a good story throughout the ages. However, leaving aside those favored courtiers, there are very few relationships with beautiful monarchs and courtiers.

For example, Tang Taizong and Wei Zheng, which were blown out by folklore, the actual situation is that Tang Taizong has been enduring Wei Zheng's chattering advice. The relationship between Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang is almost perfect in the interpretation, and this is not the case.

In 223 AD, Liu Bei died of illness in the White Emperor's City, and Zhuge Liang became an orphan vassal of Shu Hantuo. We may as well use this background to cut into it and talk about their relationship between kings and subjects in the way Zhuge Liang recalls.

Zhuge Wuhou waved a goose feather fan, cleared his throat and spoke:

Needless to say, my classmates are familiar with me. Let's start with "Three Gu Maolu".

Good birds choose trees to roost. At the beginning, my buddy Xu Shu recommended me to the first lord, which was very cautious, and the employees also had to pick the boss, right?

Zhuge Liang's memoirs: Don't misunderstand my relationship with Liu Bei, it's really not so iron

I let the first lord run three times, but it was only to test his sincerity and patience. Talented people always have to be a little more reserved, you know.

I painted a strategic vision for the Ancestors, and he was suddenly cheerful and happy. Everyone just arrived at a piece, and the Lord respected me very much. Yun Chang and Yi De had a lot of opinions on this. The Lord patiently gave them ideological work.

In fact, they didn't have to worry at all, the Lord's attitude toward me was just a courtesy, how could it be compared with the relationship between the three of them? Yi De was rude and arrogant, and everyone knew that the feelings between the Ancestor Lord and Yun Chang were the deepest.

Then there is the Battle of Chibi to unite Sun against Cao. Lu Su and I saw each other as before, and only Lu Zijing and I thought the same, hoping that Sun Liu would shelve the Jingzhou issue and maintain a long-term alliance. However, Sun Quan's vision could not be reached, and the Ancestor Lord did not pay enough attention to it. This laid hidden dangers for the difficulties of the cloud chiefs later.

We occupied Jingzhou, and Sun Quan and I both suggested that the first lord reuse Brother Shi yuan (Pang Tong). Brother Shi Yuan was also appointed as a general in the military division, just like me. Subsequently, Brother Shiyuan took advantage of the Fazheng to run and offered a plan to attack Yizhou for the ancestors. I raised my hands in approval.

Zhuge Liang's memoirs: Don't misunderstand my relationship with Liu Bei, it's really not so iron

It was the seventeenth year of Jian'an, and the first lord personally led the army and took Shi Yuan with him. At first, I was not allowed to follow, and I, Yunchang, Yide, and Zilong were all working in Jingzhou, waiting for news, and I didn't have the heart to play mahjong.

Do you know what's going on? This is the ancestor who wanted to become the brother of the master and let him make the first contribution. If I go, it is likely that there will be disagreements on combat deployment, which will embarrass the forefather.

Alas, it was a pity that Brother Shi Yuan's dedication was earnest and died under Luo Cheng. If he hadn't died, he would have held a higher position in the heart of the Lord than I had.

It was only when I learned that Brother Shiyuan had an accident that I rushed to Chengdu with Yi De and Zilong.

Later, Liu Zhang surrendered, and the first lord achieved the strategic goal of owning Jing and Yi. The first meritorious man was Fazheng, and the first lord made him the general of Shu Commandery Taishou and Yangwu, and I became the general of the military division. He has more real power than I do.

Brother Fa Zheng had the idea of defecting to the Ancestor Lord very early on, and the two of them met and hated each other late. The Lord's trust in Brother Fa Zheng is above me. Someone told me that Brother Fa Zheng had killed some people in Shu County because of his new hatred and old hatred, and I did not dare to say it to the Ancestor Lord. To say that is to sow discord between them.

In the twenty-fourth year of Jian'an, the first lord defeated Cao Cao and captured the land of Hanzhong. This is also what Brother Fa Zheng is pushing behind his back. Therefore, after the first lord ascended the throne of Hanzhong, he appointed Brother Fa Zheng as the general of Shang Shuling and Yangwu.

Shang Shu Ling is equivalent to Xiang Guo. Speaking of which, you will understand that if Brother Fa Zheng lived to the time when the first lord ascended the throne, the prime minister would definitely be him and not me.

That's why I said that when the Ancestor Lord was desperate to avenge Yun Chang and conquer Eastern Wu, only Fa Zheng was alive to stop this.

My classmates had always thought that my relationship with the Ancestor Lord was the most ironclad, but in fact, Brother Shiyuan and Brother Fa zheng were all ahead of me. When the first Lord died, let me assist the Young Lord, and no one else chose it, which I knew in my heart.

You may not know that the Lord has long been estranged from me, and we just tacitly believe it. That's mostly my reason.

Zhuge Liang's memoirs: Don't misunderstand my relationship with Liu Bei, it's really not so iron

First of all, I had different views on the development of the Shu kingdom than my ancestors. I am an idealist, bent on capturing the Central Plains. Since we wanted to go north, we had to be friendly with Eastern Wu. If I can't do it, even if it's handed over to the next generation.

But the Lord didn't agree much with either of them. He was old, had lost his ambitions, and was content with the status quo. There's nothing wrong with that.

Another point is that the Lord was a little uneasy about me. Because my brother Ziyu served Sun Quan.

Twenty years after Jian'an, my brother came to visit on the orders of Sun Quan, and we did not meet in private. But the Ancestor has always been a little suspicious of this in his heart, which is why the Ancestor and I have been estranged for many years. Sometimes when I think about it, I feel bad too.

When the Lord was dying, he said to me, if Ah Dou is not a tool, you will replace it. Alas, this made me feel so embarrassed, so I had to tearfully express my dedication to assisting the young lord. The Lord did not understand me before he left.

In this world, Zi Jing is my only confidant, but we are still our masters. Life is such a helplessness.
