Following the successful performance in Suzhou last June, on the evening of January 7, Suzhou Ballet's original ballet "My Name is Lilac" landed at the Beijing Tianqiao Art Center, and the dancers led the audience into the smoke and rain of Jiangnan with their toes, looking for the figure of the martyr Lilac among the white walls and black tiles.
In the ballet performance full of Gusu charm, the highly anticipated "Meet Beijing meet Jiangnan" Suzhou Culture and Art Exhibition Week also kicked off. The Suzhou Culture and Art Exhibition Week will last from January 6 to 20, 2022, and the event will be in the form of high-quality repertoire performances, "Suzhou New Year Taste" Experience Week, intangible cultural heritage documentary film screenings, etc., to add color to the Winter Olympics and show the world the original Taste of Gusu with a very Jiangnan texture.
As a centenary of the founding of the Suzhou Ballet, "My Name Is Lilac" reshapes the historical figure of "Lilac" through the story of the revolutionary belief inheritance of the three characters of martyr Lilac, Army Propagandist Zhong Man, and modern youth Le Lilac, giving her a fuller and thicker "life".
