The Suzhou Culture and Art Exhibition Week | opened in Beijing: the series of performances showed the charm of Suzhou and the style of Jiangnan

On January 7th, Suzhou Ballet's ballet "My Name is Lilac" was staged at Beijing Tianqiao Art Center, and the Suzhou Culture and Art Exhibition Week of "Meet Beijing and Meet Jiangnan" was officially launched. From January 6th to 20th, a series of performances and activities were held one after another, showing the charm of Suzhou and jiangnan style.

"Meet Beijing Meet Jiangnan" Suzhou Culture and Art Exhibition Week is part of the "Meet beijing" Olympic Cultural Festival and the 22nd "Meet Beijing" International Art Festival, sponsored by China International Culture Group Co., Ltd. and Suzhou Municipal Government, organized by the Publicity Department of Suzhou Municipal Party Committee, Suzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Suzhou Municipal Federation of Literature and Literature, Suzhou Daily Newspaper Group, Suzhou Radio and Television General Station, Suzhou Cultural Tourism Development Group Co., Ltd., including opening activities, high-quality repertoire performances, Suzhou New Year Experience Week, theme film display and other sub-activities. Quyi magazine was invited to assist in part of the organization and publicity work, and produced a beautiful "aggregation page" for the event.

During the Suzhou Culture and Art Exhibition Week, 7 well-created plays by Suzhou Kun Opera House, Suzhou Su Opera Troupe, Suzhou Pingtan Troupe, Suzhou Song and Dance Theater, Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, Suzhou Ballet, Kunshan Contemporary Kun Opera and other troupes in Jiangsu Province held 10 performances at Beijing Tianqiao Art Center and Beijing Tianqiao Theater respectively. These plays include the Su opera "Guoding Soul", which won the 16th "Wenhua Award", as well as the elite version of the Kunqu opera youth version of "Peony Pavilion" and the Kunqu opera "Gu Yanwu"; there are both traditional Suzhou pingtan classic plays, as well as modern ballet "My Name is Lilac", symphony "Infinite Shostakovich", and dance drama "Yunhe", allowing the audience to break through the boundaries of time and space and feel the charm of Suzhou reflecting ancient and modern times.

The Suzhou New Year Experience Week was held from January 6 to 10 in the public space of Beijing Tianqiao Art Center, including "Spring Breeze in Taoli, Flowers Blooming and Rich", "Zhang Lantern Colorful, LookIng Up to See Joy", "Silk Love, Pearl Circle Jade Run", "Jiangnan Honey, Reunion Ruyi", "VIP Seating, Good Drama and Stage", "Tiger Tiger Shengwei, Blessings Full of Halls" and other theme content, with Su embroidery, Song Jin, Su Fan, clay sculpture, paper-cutting, nuclear carving, silk, copper stove, incense bags, lanterns, lantern riddles, Kunqu opera, pingtan, Huang Tianyuan cake balls, Caizhi Zhai candy, Suzhou intangible cultural heritage such as Aozao noodles are representatives, allowing Chinese and foreign audiences to feel the strong taste of the exquisite and elegant Su-style life.

During the Suzhou Culture and Art Exhibition Week, the organizers will hold a special screening of the film "Tiangong Suzuo" at the China Film Archive, and invite the film's main creators to interact with the audience on the spot, and will also carry out Catholic education activities in Venues such as Beijing Tianqiao Art Center. "Tiangong Suzuo" is a documentary filmed under the guidance of the Propaganda Department of suzhou municipal party committee and jointly produced by Suzhou Radio and Television General Station and Suzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection and Management Office. The film selects 9 representative crafts from a variety of traditional crafts in Suzhou, and tells the past and present lives of these crafts from the perspective of 12 representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, as well as the warm stories that occur between each inheritor and the craft.
