According to the Wall Street Journal news on January 7, Amazon has changed the PTO (paid leave) policy for employees forced to quarantine due to the new crown virus, and the vacation enjoyed by employees has been reduced from 14 days to a week (or 40 hours) of vacation. In a notification to employees, Amazon cited the latest recommendation from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that people who test positive for COVID-19 only need to quarantine for five days after their symptoms disappear.
Amazon doesn't uniformly mandate that employees must return to the office to work, but instead lets teams decide which jobs can be done remotely. Currently, Amazon does not require employees to test negative for COVID-19 before returning to work.
