Recently, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) considered making new modifications to the interval between vaccinations of special populations to reduce the risk of heart inflammation in immunocompromised people.
This population is said to have responded poorly to the vaccine and was the only one to be recommended to receive four doses of the vaccine.
According to CDC guidance, immunocompromised people should complete the first three doses of the vaccine within 2 months and get the fourth dose of the vaccine as soon as possible after three months. Previous vaccination manuals recommended that the interval between the third and fourth doses of vaccination was 5 months.
This update is intended for special populations over the age of 18 who receive the Modena or Johnson & Johnson vaccine, and for special populations over the age of 12 who receive the Pfizer vaccine.
