All along, the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games have been adhering to the concept of "green Olympic Games", adhering to ecological priority, resource conservation and environmental friendliness, laying a beautiful Chinese background for the Winter Olympic Games. As a secondary energy source, hydrogen has the advantages of diverse sources, zero terminal discharge, and wide range of uses, and plays an important role in helping the "Green Winter Olympics".
At present, the domestic energy industry is vigorously improving the ability to guarantee hydrogen energy supply, investing in the construction of hydrogen refueling stations along the transportation trunk line, providing hydrogen refueling services for hydrogen fuel vehicles along the Zhangjiakou and Yanqing race areas, and "hydrogen" is helping the "Green Winter Olympics".
Hydrogen buses serve the Green Winter Olympics
On January 5, 2022, on the occasion of the 30-day countdown to the Beijing Winter Olympics, held the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics Hydrogen Energy Bus Departure Ceremony in the Yanqing District of the Beijing Winter Olympics, and more than 100 hydrogen energy buses equipped with the Hydrogen Teng fuel cell system and more than 200 operation and support teams were ready to go, which will provide transportation connection and guarantee services for the Yanqing Area of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

According to reports, this hydrogen energy bus has a cruising range of 630 kilometers, which can achieve a low temperature start of minus 30 degrees Celsius and meet the requirements of low temperature operation in northern cities. Compared with traditional fossil energy vehicles, hydrogen energy buses can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 70 kilograms for every 100 kilometers traveled.
It is understood that during the Beijing Winter Olympics, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou regions invested a total of more than 700 hydrogen fuel buses to provide transportation service guarantees for the event.
The "heart" of the hydrogen energy bus serving the Winter Olympics is the hydrogen fuel cell. At the beginning of December 2021, China's first fully autonomous and controllable national power investment 300,000 square meters proton exchange membrane production line was put into operation in Wuhan, which promoted China's fuel cell core material industry to make great strides forward.
Vigorously promote the construction of hydrogen refueling stations
In order to ensure the normal operation of hydrogen fuel buses, in September 2021, Sinopec Beijing Qingyuan Street Hydrogen Refueling Station, Beijing Wangquanying Hydrogen Refueling Station, Beijing Yanhua Xinglong Oil Hydrogen Joint Construction Station, Hebei Chongli Xiwanzi Hydrogen Refueling Station and other four service Winter Olympic hydrogen refueling stations were put into operation. Among them, Qingyuan Street Hydrogen Refueling Station, Wang quanying Hydrogen Refueling Station, Yanhua Xinglong Oil hydrogen joint construction station for 212 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in Yanqing District to provide hydrogen refueling services, the daily hydrogen supply capacity of a total of 2500 kg; Xiwanzi Hydrogen Refueling Station for Zhangjiakou Division to provide hydrogen refueling services, daily hydrogen supply capacity of 1000 kg, with two hydrogen refueling machines, can meet the 35 MPa, 70 MPa hydrogen fuel cell vehicle refueling needs at the same time.

It is worth mentioning that on January 6, 2022, the first station hydrogen testing laboratory in China, Sinopec Xiwanzi Hydrogen Testing Laboratory, was officially put into operation in Chongli, Hebei Province. The laboratory can complete the detection of 13 typical indicators of fuel cell hydrogen, providing technical support for ensuring the safety and reliability of hydrogen energy quality in the Winter Olympics.
At PetroChina, since the hydrogen refueling station in the Prince Edward City Service Area was put into use on February 7, 2021, a number of hydrogen refueling stations and integrated energy stations have been put into operation in Beijing and Hebei. During the Beijing Winter Olympics, PetroChina's four hydrogen refueling stations will serve 816 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
In the National Energy Group, on December 29, 2021, the first 70 MPa integrated mobile hydrogen refueling station in China that meets the national standard requirements and explosion-proof certification of hydrogen refueling stations was also put into use at the Hebei Wanquan Oil Hydrogen-Electric Integrated Energy Station, which will provide green kinetic energy for the 2022 Winter Olympic Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle.
At present, the State Power Investment is building the Zhongguancun Yanqing Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park, the first phase of the Yanqingyuan hydrogen refueling station, the second phase of the Winter Olympics supporting hydrogen production station (70 MPa) has been put into use, and the third phase of the research and development test area is planned to start construction this year. Among them, the first phase of the hydrogen refueling station can provide hydrogen refueling support for 60 hydrogen fuel buses or 200 small and medium-sized hydrogen fuel vehicles per day.
Improve the ability to guarantee the supply of hydrogen energy
Behind the commissioning of hydrogen refueling stations, it is inseparable from the improvement of hydrogen energy supply guarantee capabilities. On December 27, 2021, petroChina North China Petrochemical Company independently produced the first batch of 390 kilograms of hydrogen fuel, and the Beijing sales company Futian Hydrogen Refueling Station provided refueling services for several 10 hydrogen fuel vehicles, marking the official listing of PetroChina's self-produced hydrogen in its own hydrogen refueling station.

Previously, North China Petrochemical only took two months to build and put into use a 500 standard cubic meter / hour by-product hydrogen purification device, and the purity of hydrogen produced reached more than 99.999%.
At Sinopec, since the completion and operation of Yanshan Petrochemical's hydrogen new energy supply project for the Beijing Winter Olympics in March 2020, as of now, Yanshan Petrochemical has supplied more than 260 tons of high-purity hydrogen to Beijing and surrounding markets to support the Green Winter Olympics.
The National Energy Group promotes the coupling development of new energy power generation and electrolysis of water to hydrogen, gives full play to the coupling role of hydrogen energy in traditional fossil energy, renewable energy and new energy, and relies on wind, photovoltaic power plants and large-scale wind and solar coupling system-storage-transmission-hydrogen system comprehensive demonstration projects to inject strength into the green Winter Olympics.
"At present, the comprehensive demonstration project located in Zhangjiakou Has completed the commissioning of grid-connected converters, energy storage converters, hydrogen power supplies, wind power converters, energy storage containers, energy storage monitoring systems and other monolithic equipment." Miao Ping, an expert at the Low Carbon Institute of the National Energy Group, introduced that the project has a supporting 2 MW photovoltaic power station, which mainly uses photovoltaic power generation to produce hydrogen during the day and hydrogen production from the wind power of the Qilin Mountain Wind Farm at night, contributing green energy to the Winter Olympics.
Industry insiders believe that with the opportunity of the Beijing Winter Olympics, hydrogen energy is expected to be understood and recognized by more people, and China's hydrogen energy industry will enter the fast lane of rapid development, helping to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
