SPC is a very large state-owned backbone enterprise directly managed by the central government, shouldering the important mission of ensuring national energy security. At present, has mastered the key core technology of hydrogen fuel cell stacks and systems, and opened up the domestic fuel cell industry chain. Fan Jihong, secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Research Institute of the State Power Investment Group, introduced that in September 2020, the State Power Investment Corporation released the "Hydrogen Teng" FC-ML80 vehicle fuel cell products and FCS65 vehicle fuel cell engine system products, and its key technologies and product materials were all autonomous, the indicators reached the international leading level, and smoothly entered the industrialization promotion and implementation stage.

Inside the State Power Investment Institute, a hydrogen energy bus painted in three colors, white, green and red, attracted the attention of many reporters. Zhang Yinguang, general manager of the State Power Investment Group Hydrogen Energy Company and deputy secretary of the Party Committee, introduced that since the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics, hydrogen energy buses equipped with the "Hydrogen Teng" hydrogen fuel cell of the State Power Investment Corporation are serving the Yanqing Division and the Beijing Division. Zhang Yinguang said that the "Hydrogen Teng" hydrogen fuel cell is a demonstration of the achievements of the localization of hydrogen fuel cells in the mainland, which has realized material-level autonomy, can meet the extreme climatic conditions that may occur in Yanqing Competition Area, and the performance is comparable to the international leading level.

It is understood that this batch of hydrogen energy buses carries a maximum of 48 passengers, the design speed is 100 km / h, 10 minutes can be filled with hydrogen, a hydrogen can travel 630 km, can start at a low temperature of minus 30 degrees Celsius, run smoothly under minus 20 degrees Celsius conditions, and adapt to bad road conditions such as climbing. Compared with traditional fossil energy vehicles, hydrogen energy buses can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 70 kilograms per 100 kilometers, which is equivalent to the annual absorption of 14 ordinary trees.

Along with the hydrogen energy bus, there are also three different models of drones equipped with the "Hydrogen Teng" air-cooled fuel cell system. These hydrogen-powered UAVs have the characteristics of zero carbon emissions, low temperature resistance, long endurance, etc., which can realize intelligent network operation and are used in inspection, aerial photography, unmanned freight and other fields. Zhang Yinguang said that the three drones will be "air-ground joint" with hydrogen energy buses to provide power system inspection and transportation capacity support for the Yanqing competition area during the Winter Olympics.

The "heart" of hydrogen energy buses and hydrogen-powered drones is hydrogen fuel cells, and one of the key core components with the largest added value of the hydrogen fuel cell industry chain, the proton exchange membrane, has almost always relied on imports, which is an important link in forming the whole industrial chain of hydrogen fuel cells and reducing the comprehensive cost of hydrogen fuel cells. The lack of proton exchange membrane industry once became an important "card neck" problem in the mainland hydrogen fuel cell industry.

At the beginning of December 2021, the mainland's first fully autonomous and controllable 300,000-square-meter proton exchange membrane production line was put into operation in Wuhan, which is the most technologically advanced, the most autonomous and the largest disposable film-forming production line in this field. The commissioning of this production line means that the mainland has its own production capacity in the field of high-end products of proton exchange membranes, which promotes the mainland hydrogen fuel cell core material industry to make great strides forward.

In addition to proton exchange membranes, Hydrogen Energy Corporation has also vigorously promoted the research and development of key materials and components such as catalysts, membrane electrodes, and bipolar plates, and has reached the international advanced level in terms of power level, power density, environmental adaptability, and durability.

For the hydrogen energy industry, how to stimulate the downstream market demand, promote the comprehensive development of the hydrogen industry chain, and make a qualitative leap in the application scale of hydrogen energy is a challenge that the hydrogen energy industry needs to continue to face.
