The 30 hydrogen energy buses departed from the Yutong Test Center Park in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, and traveled more than 800 kilometers along the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, which lasted five days and arrived in Yanqing District of Beijing.
On December 15, these hydrogen energy buses were officially delivered to the State Power Investment Hydrogen Power Technology Service Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the State Power Investment Hydrogen Energy Company).
Interface News learned at the scene of the pick-up ceremony that this hydrogen energy bus was developed by the State Power Investment Hydrogen Energy Company and Yutong Bus, and will be put into the service guarantee work of the Yanqing Competition Area of the Winter Olympic Games.
During the Winter Olympics, more than 700 hydrogen-fueled buses are expected to be put into use in Yanqing and Zhangjiakou. Among them, the Yanqing Division will be invested in 200 vehicles by the State Power Investment Corporation.
Zhang Yinguang, general manager of the State Power Investment Hydrogen Energy Company, also said at the reception ceremony that the company plans to promote 3,000 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in Beijing within five years.
According to the "Beijing Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle Industry Development Plan (2020-2025)", Yanqing is a pilot area for the demonstration and application of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, and the demonstration application of hydrogen fuel vehicles should be carried out with the help of the Winter Olympics and the high-end manufacturing and application demonstration base of vehicles.
According to Wang Shanchong, deputy secretary of the party committee of Yutong Group, the company has reached a strategic cooperation with the State Power Investment Hydrogen Energy Company for 100 hydrogen fuel cell buses.
Interface News learned that the delivery of the remaining 70 hydrogen energy buses is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
These hydrogen energy buses are all 11 meters long tourist vehicles, carrying 46 people, the stack rated power is 115kW, the system is rated net output of 80.4kW, and it is equipped with the "Hydrogen Teng" series fuel cell engine independently developed by the State Power Investment Corporation.
According to, they can achieve a low temperature start of -30 ° C, take 10 minutes to fill up with hydrogen, and the total driving range is 630 kilometers.
At the pick-up ceremony, hydrogen energy drones developed by the State Power Investment Hydrogen Energy Corporation and the Comac Motor Corporation of China North Research Center were also displayed - Lingque-H, ET120, GT30. The three drones will work with hydrogen energy buses to provide Yanqing with power system inspection and capacity support during the Winter Olympics.

Compared with other new energy sources, hydrogen energy reserves are large, pollution is small, and efficiency is high. Hydrogen energy contains about 3 times the energy per unit mass of oil and 4.5 times that of coal. However, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are still in the early stages of industrial development.
According to the data released by the "14th Five-Year Plan" Hydrogen Energy Industry Development Forum held by the China Hydrogen Energy Alliance, as of the end of 2020, there are only more than 7,000 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in the country.
In 2021, a number of policies have been introduced in China to encourage and support the development of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
Among them, the "Opinions on Deepening the Battle of Pollution Prevention and Control" issued by the State Council in early November proposed to promote the demonstration and application of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and promote clean energy vehicles in an orderly manner.
In recent years, many traditional energy central enterprises, including the National Energy Group, PetroChina, Sinopec and other traditional energy companies, have also accelerated their entry into the field of hydrogen energy and established hydrogen energy companies.
The Society of Automotive Engineers of China expects the number of hydrogen vehicles in the country to reach 100,000 by 2025 and 1 million by 2035.
This means that in the next three or four years, the size of the hydrogen vehicle market will grow by more than 10 times.
