Beijing's literary works include not only the Hutong Courtyard, but also the Great Wall in dialogue with history, and the sea lump leading to the future... On April 20th, at the launching ceremony of the 4.23 World Book Day event held in Yanqing District, the "Yanchuan Anthology" presenting the local characteristics of Yanqing was met with the public, and the "Yanchuan Anthology" included 12 outstanding literary works in Yanqing selected by Beijing Publishing Group.
The event was hosted by the Publicity Department of Yanqing District Committee and the Yanqing District Bureau of Culture and Tourism. At the launching ceremony, the reporter of Beijing Youth Daily saw that there were 12 volumes of "The Collected Works of Yanchuan", which selected 12 works of 11 Yanqing writers, including Qiao Yu, Xie Jiuzhong, Yuanshan, Huaxia, Zhou Yi, Lin Yao, Zhang Heping, namely "The Light of the White River", "The Proud Son of The Concubine", "The Battle of Longguan", "Yunyang Feishui", "Crossing the Heart Wall", "The Great Wall Of Judgment", "Mountain Journey and Water Journey", "There are always unexpected touches in ordinary life", "Candle Walking", "Flowing Years", "The Call of Haituo Mountain", "The Day in the Lens", Genres include poetry, prose, fiction, and reportage.
For example, "The Light of the White River", with a total of 200,000 words in 9 chapters, records the beginning and end of the 14 years (1969-1983) of the Yanqing White River Water Diversion Project. "The Proud Son of Yanchuan" sorts out the deeds of famous figures in ancient and modern Yanqing, recording 8 ancient characters and 33 modern figures.
What is Yu Chuan? Yanqing District is located in the northwest of Beijing, there is a river called The Yanhe River, and the terrain of Yanqing has basin characteristics, so it is called the Yanchuan River. In a sense, the Collected Works of Yanchuan fills the gap in Beijing's literary creation and is a cultural memory left by contemporary Yanqing literary and art workers.
It is worth mentioning that in order to create a cultural atmosphere of global reading, Yanqing District will designate April as "Book Fragrance Yanqing Reading Month for all", organize primary and secondary schools, physical bookstores, and special reading spaces, carry out different forms of reading promotion activities, and send high-quality books and reading activities to more citizens.
