Chen Yuzhong's side of the "most loving hot sausage" we are not strangers, because in the beginning of Mr. Jin Yong's novel "The Tale of the Flying Fox", Mr. Jin Yong once quoted it to express his appreciation for Hu Fei of the ancient road hot sausage, because in the plot of the novel, Hu Fei's obsession with his favor to Ma Chunhua (who had said good things for him) was a hot sausage, and then he refused to stop pestering for the tragic events of the Ping'a Si family, and it was also a hot sausage for xiao Ni's last love and courtship. Obviously, Mr. Jin Yong used this square seal because he understood the thoughts and emotions that this square seal wanted to express, which we have talked about in detail in the series of articles "Seals in Jin Yong's Works".

We must talk about the side section of this square seal, because Chen Yuzhong's seal engraving is famous for the side section, and the content of this side print is also very important. There are many side text in this square print, almost engraved on three sides, and the content is as follows:

(Side of the hot sausage)

When Yu Shaoshi served the ancestor Hancun Gongfang, he saw the writing and seal carving, stole it in his heart, and examined his method of carrying the sword, and had time in his spare time, but he did not specialize in the two. Eighteen and nineteen gradually became known, and after the weak crown, they paid more, and especially in the matter of iron pen. From time to time, there are people who see the seal of Mr. Ding Yanlin collected by Yu Zhangxuan, and they have realized the purpose of coupling the wrist. Looking at the Han seals collected by the various families, he carefully played with the three relics of casting, chiseling, and carving, and made changes to the text and the old habits.

Later, he had to hand over to Sima Xiaosong huang, because he had been approved for what he had done, and the rest of the money was approved by him. Gai Yu's writing style has no teacher, all based on the wrist, after ten years, you can accumulate thousands of words, and do not think that it is bitter. Or think that it is like Ding Jushi, or think that it is like Jiang Shantang, yu does not think so.

Brother Yu Zhi made this seal, and admired the remaining words, the more the merrier, because of the place of his dedication, attached to the seal stone, in response to the meaning of Ya? On the twenty-third day of November in Jiaqing, sitting in the rain and asking for the book of Jai Man, Qiu Tang Chen Yu Zhong.

To study Chen Yuzhong, this side section is very important, and it is even Chen Yuzhong's self-description of the process of learning to print:

Chen Yuzhong was born in the Jinshi family, when he was a child, he watched his ancestors write, engrave, and develop hobbies, so he concentrated on learning calligraphy and seal carving, and at the age of eighteen or nineteen, he gradually broke through to fame, and after the age of 20, calligraphy seal carving became his means of livelihood, especially known for seal carving.

Around this time, he was able to see Ding Jing's seal and realize the method of using a sword. Then he contacted the Chinese seal and studied the method of "casting, chiseling and engraving" in depth. After making friends with Huang Yi, he worshiped Huang Yi as a teacher, and Huang Yi especially appreciated his side money. Chen Yuzhong believes that he has no teacher in the side section, and relies on his own hard work, and after he has worked the side section for about ten years, he can carve hundreds of thousands of words of side sections at a time and do not think it is bitter.

Because the owner of this square seal, Yu Zhi, likes Chen Yuzhong's side paragraph very much, and the more side text required to be engraved, the better, so the number of side text of this square seal is close to three hundred words (263 words), which fully meets the requirements of Yu Zhi, which is actually Chen Yuzhong's "hot sausage" embodiment, which is consistent with the content of the print: if a friend has a request, he will meet him!

Let's shift the focus to the printing surface of this square seal, and then carefully analyze the technical characteristics of this square seal, and talk about the difference between the literati seal and the Chinese seal:

In fact, whether or not you can express certain thoughts and emotions is the most essential difference between the literati seal (in fact, the seal engraving) and the practical seal (including the Chinese seal). Practical seals such as the Chinese seal point more to the practical application of seals, such as the status certificate of the official seal, such as the role of private printing. The seal engraving of the literati seal, in addition to the fact that it can be covered in calligraphy and painting works to meet the practicality, it also expresses the thoughts and feelings embodied in the printed text.

The chapter of this square seal is obviously similar to the five-character seal of the Han seal (especially the new Mang seal), as shown in the figure:

(Comparison with Chinese Seal)

The same is the five-character seal, the same three columns, the same is the simplest "ren" character placed in the leftmost column of the printing surface, the same by the "ren" glyph is simple and forms a large area of red on the left side of the printing surface, thus forming a dense visual contrast effect with the density of the right glyph, but from the distribution of the printed surface text, Chen Yuzhong's square seal, the "ren" character occupies a thinner and narrower placeholder, and its placeholder is adjusted, while the Hanyin strictly follows the principle of "equally divided printing surface".

(Comparison with the Chinese seal on the chapter)

Why? Obviously, in order to achieve the emphasis on the vertical potential of the word "person", because the vertical potential of "person" is emphasized, it forms a more sharp visual contrast with the horizontal trend of the four characters on the right, thus further increasing the visual effect. And this state of "straight and straight" is the best footnote to the content of the printing surface "the most loving hot sausage person".

In fact, the adjustment of the seal law of the intestinal character "昜" department is also worth mentioning. The biggest visual conflict in all india is the contrast between the horizontal painting of the four characters of "favorite hot sausage" and the longitudinal painting of the word "ren". In order to make this contrast more intense, in the lower part of the "昜" part, the author changed the seal method, thus realizing the stacking of horizontal paintings and achieving a more prominent "horizontal" effect. As shown in the figure:

Reading the seal: Chen Yuzhong "loves the hot sausage person the most", the difference between the literati seal and the Han seal

(Seal Law of the Fubu)

The biggest advantage of Miao Seal's entry into printing is that it can increase or decrease the number of strokes, but the premise is that it does not affect the "orthography" (that is, correctness) of the indian characters, and the practice of the ancients is indeed the same, there are no examples of "intestine" characters in Chinese printing, but "Easy" and "Yang" have examples, and the stacking done in the lower parts is well documented. Chen Yuzhong's approach is reasonable in terms of calligraphy and seal law. But obviously, such a seal method is still to increase the "horizontal potential" to increase the contrast.

Practical seals, the purpose of its creation is mostly practical, and at the beginning of the creation of the literati seal, its creative purpose is to express thoughts and emotions. Therefore, when the author determined that the creative style of the "most loving hot sausage person" was "straight and straight", the author worked hard in this direction, whether it was the seal law or the chapter law. In fact, this is also the difference between the literati seal (seal engraving) and the practical seal (including the Chinese seal) in the creation method.
