Two Guizhou people performed a miracle in the Korean battlefield, repelled seven U.S. charges, and killed 112 people

In 1950, when US aircraft invaded China's territorial airspace to bomb northeastern border towns, and at the request of the Government of the Korean People's Democratic Republic of Korea, China began to form the Chinese Volunteer Army to prepare for war in Korea to resist the United States and aid Korea.

At that time, there was no compulsory military service system in the country, and the volunteer army took the initiative to sign up for the army. In December 1950, in Nayong County, Guizhou Province, where banditry had just ended, there was a 16-year-old Miao teenager who pestered the troops to join the volunteer army. The officers of the unit saw that the young man was not very old or tall, and they did not intend to ask him. But he followed the troops step by step, seeing that he had a special affection for the army, and eventually the 7th Company of the 134th Regiment of the 15th Army took him down, and he became the deputy shooter of the 60th Artillery Squad. In March 1951, the teenager also crossed the Yalu River with the troops and went to resist the United States and aid Korea together. The teenager's name was Liu Xingwen.

Liu Xingwen, who joined the volunteer army, because of his small size, the class took special care of him, and he could carry as much ammunition as he could carry. In the first phase of the Fifth Campaign, Liu Xingwen actively wanted to participate in the battle. When it came to the second stage, it was mainly the 8th Company that took on combat missions, and Liu Xingwen's 7th Company also did a little bit, although Liu Xingwen showed great bravery, he thought that as a deputy shooter, he had not personally fought the enemy or was not addicted.

When the troops were recovered, on the evening of June 10, when they reached the vicinity of Shibaura-ri, their superiors issued an order to the 134th Regiment to rush to Park Dafeng to block the enemy.

The 134th Regiment was on the way to a sudden turn into blockade operations, first of all underprepared, and the US 25th Division was threatening. The 134th Regiment had just begun when the enemy attacked, and the most important thing was that the American army had a battalion inserted in the middle of the main position of the 134th Regiment. On June 11, after a day of fierce fighting between the enemy and us, the 134th Regiment suffered heavy casualties.

On June 12, Liu Xingwen's 7th Company took on the forward blocking mission, and two BATTALIONs of the US Army pounced on the 7th Company from three directions. After three days and nights of stubborn resistance, the 7th Company never let the enemy advance a step, but because of the huge disparity in strength between the enemy and us, the gap in weapons was too large, and at this time, only Liu Xingwen and another soldier, Zhao Jinping, were left on the entire position.

Zhao Jinping was a native of Dafang County, Guizhou Province, and was working as a heavy machine gun shooter in the 7th Company at the time. At this time, the 60 cannons controlled by Liu Xingwen had been destroyed in the fierce battle, and Liu Xingwen ran to Zhao Jinping's side and said: "Old Zhao, we are all guizhou people!" We must hold our position and win glory for Guizhou! At this time, Zhao Jinping's heavy machine gun just lacked a reloading deputy, so he temporarily taught Liu Xingwen how to load the bullets.

The two men also collected all the bullets and grenades available on the position and prepared to fight side by side.

When the Americans bombed and shelled, they hid in the tunnels, and when the enemy attacked, they loaded each other at a distance and alternately shot at the Americans, and when they were close, they served with grenades. In this way, Liu Xingwen and Zhao Jinping repelled 7 attacks of the US army. The US army only saw the machine guns on the top of the hill sounding incessantly, and the grenades were thrown down one after another, and it was impossible to figure out how many volunteers were still on the position, and finally the US army gave up the attack, and Liu Xingwen and Zhao Jinping firmly defended a small hill that the US troops under Park Dafeng had to pass.

Throughout the battle, Liu Xingwen and Zhao Jinping only knew how many enemies they had killed, but they only knew how many enemies they had killed. On June 13, when the 135th Regiment of the support force came to take over the position, Liu Xingwen and Zhao Jinping, who had walked out of the trench, found that the position in front of them was densely packed with the corpses of American troops, and it was later confirmed that the two had jointly annihilated 112 enemy soldiers.

After the battle, when the 134th Regiment was collecting battle merit materials, Zhao Jinping took the initiative to say that Liu Xingwen played a very key role in this two-person blockade battle, so Liu Xingwen was awarded the first class merit, and Zhao Jinping was awarded the second class merit. In the same year, Liu Xingwen was selected as the representative of the volunteer army to return to China to watch the ceremony, and was known as the "hero of the Miao nationality" and was also received by the chairman. Later, he also went to major cities in the southwest with the volunteer hero report group to report, and returned to the provincial capital of Guiyang on December 3 to make a report and did not return to his hometown Nayong to see it.

In June 1952, Liu Xingwen returned to the Korean front, and on July 4, on the way back to the 7th Company of the 134th Regiment, he was hit by enemy cold artillery and unfortunately died at the age of 19. After Liu Xingwen's death, in 1953, the Volunteer Army Headquarters decided to posthumously award him the title of "Second Class Combat Hero".

Zhao Jinping, who defended the position with Liu Xingwen, still showed heroism in the subsequent battles. On August 14, 1952, in the defensive operation of the Five Holy Mountains, Zhao Jinping and his comrades-in-arms repelled the enemy's attacks many times and held their positions in the difficult situation of lack of water, food and ammunition, but Zhao Jinping was also unfortunately hit by bullets, and his life was forever frozen at the age of 37.

Zhao Jinping also performed prominently on the Korean battlefield, successively winning the first, second, and third class meritorious service once.

Liu Xingwen and Zhao Jinping, two Guizhou volunteer soldiers, joined hands to repel the US army's seven-time charge, which can be called a miracle in the history of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea; just as the two of them said, winning glory for Guizhou has become the pride of the motherland, and their feats have also been recorded in the annals of history and will forever be remembered.
