The new car is based on the GM Ultium pure electric platform and is scheduled to begin deliveries in the spring of 2023. The Silverado EV is equipped with a double-layer battery pack similar to the Hummer EV on the chassis, the latter has a battery capacity of up to 200 kWh, the power of this full-size pickup truck has a maximum output of 660 horsepower, 0 to 60 miles of acceleration of 4.5 seconds, and the official EPA range is estimated to be 644 kilometers.
On the highlights of the new car, the silverado EV's cargo box and second row can be opened, and the maximum depth of the load can reach 3.05 meters when the container railing plate is flat, which will be more convenient for transporting long goods. The vehicle has eliminated the grille and featured aerodynamic wheels up to 24 inches in size (fig. 1) on the high-end model. With the blessing of the pure electric platform, Silverado also has a large front load compartment with a flat opening at the front of the car, and the air suspension can also adjust the height of the vehicle to facilitate the loading and unloading of goods. To improve steering and parking flexibility, silverado is also equipped with a four-wheel steering system.
In terms of assisted driving function, Silverado uses GM's SuperCruise, which supports lane keeping, adaptive cruising, and can be driven off-hand in some sections.
The price of the Silverado starter version is 39,990 US dollars, the top version is 105,000 US dollars, so the configuration difference between different versions will be quite large, the current main competitor is the old rival Ford's F-150 Lightning, and according to Ford's latest news, the car has increased the planned annual production capacity to 150,000 units because the order exceeded expectations.
