In 1883, Lü Bicheng was born in Taiyuan, Shanxi. His father, Lü Fengqi, was a scholar of the Ding Ugly Branch in the third year of Guangxu. Lü Bicheng has lived in the spirit of books since childhood, reflecting a talent that is different from ordinary people.

When Lü Bicheng was 5 years old, her father casually read a sentence in the garden: "Spring wind blows willows", And Lü Bicheng answered "Autumn rain hits the sycamore" without thinking, which surprised Lü Fengqi.

When Lü Bicheng was 7 years old, he had a solid foundation in poetry, calligraphy and painting. People at that time praised her: "Since childhood, she has a talented name, Gong Shiwen, Shan Danqing, can rule the seal, and is a delicate rhythm, and the words are especially famous in the world." ”

Under the careful guidance of his father, Lü Bicheng spent a happy and happy childhood. But soon Lü Bicheng's life ushered in a big change.

One day, Lü Fengqi climbed the rockery at home, and because the road slipped after the rain, he accidentally fell and died. According to the family rules, girls did not have the right to inherit the inheritance, and for a time, orphans and widows were bullied, and some people in the clan even instigated bandits to imprison the main mother.

At such a juncture, 13-year-old Lu Bicheng stood up. She picked up a pen, wrote letters to her father's former friends, and ignored the identity of her daughter's family, visiting everywhere for help.

One of the letters reached fan zengxiang, the governor of Liangjiang. Fan Zengxiang was touched by Lü Bicheng's superhuman boldness and heartfelt words, and reached out to help. For a time, the official scene in Huizhou was surging and no official at all levels dared to neglect the third daughter of the Lu family, and a crisis was stopped in time.

The story of Lü Bicheng going to the Governor of Liangjiang for help spread throughout the world, but the Wang family, who had made an in-law with the Lü family early in the morning, forcibly repented at this time, and the Wang family thought that Lü Bicheng's young age could stir up the storm, and it was bound to be difficult to control after passing through the door, so they dissolved the marriage contract on the pretext that the bandits had kidnapped and insulted the door. It is a great shame that a woman who has not passed through the door has repented of her marriage. In desperation, the mother could only take her daughters to her mother's house.

In the spring of 1904, Lü Bicheng went with his friends to listen to a lecture at the women's school and had the idea of going to Tianjin to study.

When she happily described the new school, she suddenly looked up but saw an angry uncle, "A girl, who does not abide by the way of women and finds a good family to marry, what is the matter with showing her face?" "Young Lü Bicheng is full of indignation, why can a man gallop on the battlefield, float and sink into the sea, from Wen Xingguo, to practice martial arts and anbang, and a woman must spend this life with forbearance?!"

So, on a cold night, Lü Bicheng left his uncle's house and stepped on the train to Tianjin alone. No luggage, no travel expenses, no companions, even train tickets are funded by well-wishers. But so what? Being yourself is the definition of life that Lü Bicheng wrote for himself long ago.

21-year-old Lü Bicheng, with a song "ManJiang Red" stunning four seats. Lü Bicheng won the admiration of Yingzhi with her talent and integrity, and immediately begged her to stay in the Ta Kung Pao as an editor. Because of the joining of Lü Bicheng, the sales volume of "Ta Kung Pao" ranked first in the Beijing-Tianjin region.

In order to let the women of the world no longer have to rely on people to survive, Lü Bicheng decided to set up a girls' school! In November of the same year, the Tianjin Public Women's School (later known as Beiyang Women's Public School) was established. Lü Bicheng served as the chief teacher and became the first female principal in China.

In the summer of 1904, Lü Bicheng was reading a book, and the concierge held aloft a business card with the words "Qiu Yu Jing" and said: There is a grandfather who combs his hair outside. After the greeting, Lü Bicheng found that the other party was the famous heroine Qiu Jin. If a man's appreciation of women has some admiration and beautification, then Qiu Jin's recognition of Lü Bicheng is a real pity for each other.

In fact, Qiu Jin and Lü Bicheng have many differences. Qiu Jin advocates "revolution", Lü Bicheng advocates "constitutionalism"; Qiu Jin imitates men, while Lü Bicheng believes that men and women have their own characteristics, and women's true self-confidence is to show their beauty generously, rather than emulating men; Qiu Jin advocates "overthrowing etiquette", while Lü Bicheng believes that etiquette is the cornerstone of culture, and the simple and rough revolution and innovation will inevitably bring about the pain of cultural fragmentation and rootlessness; Qiu Jin is sharp and sharp, and Lü Bicheng is gentle and pertinent. But that doesn't stop them from becoming best friends.

Qiu Jin went to Zhejiang to contact the party and prepare for an uprising, but was arrested by the Qing army because of the leak of information. She was unyielding to death, leaving behind the famous phrase "autumn wind and autumn rain are sad", and died in the early morning of July 15, 1907, at the age of 32. At that time, everyone was in danger of themselves, and they did not dare to collect Qiu Jin's body. Lü Bicheng risked killing his head and sent servants to Shaoxing to collect Qiu Jin and temporarily place her under Wolong Mountain, and then entrusted Wu Zhiying, Xu Zihua and others to relocate and bury her on the edge of the West Lake. After Qiu Jin's death, the newspaper office was dumbfounded, Shenzhou was silenced for a while, and Lü Bicheng's liver and gallbladder looked at each other, and the righteousness and martyrdom were long, which seemed so moving.

After Qiu Jin's death, the Qing army searched everywhere for his fellow party, and Lü Bicheng finally aroused the dissatisfaction of the Qing court because of his frequent correspondence with Qiu Jin.

At that time, there were many admirers in Lü Bicheng, and Yuan Shikai's second son Yuan Kewen was one of them. Yuan Kewen read Lü Bicheng's article and was admired, and the case file of Lü Bicheng on his desk made his heart move, and he found Yuan Shikai. What is surprising is that Yuan Shikai is also a fan of Lü Bicheng, and immediately said, "If there is a correspondence with the same party, then am I not also a chaotic party with Lü Bicheng and a letter exchange?" The Qing court did not dare to act rashly, and Lü Bicheng was exonerated.

When Lü Bicheng learned that it was Yuan Shikai who exonerated her, he immediately wrote a letter to report to her and went into the house to thank her. On the recommendation of Yuan Kewen, Lü Bicheng became a counselor of the presidential office, had the right to participate in politics, and could freely enter and exit the Zhonghua Gate. The first female official of the Republic of China who could openly participate in politics was born.

Yuan Kewen often wrote poems for Lü Bicheng, how could the affection under his eyes be hidden? But Lü Bicheng was sober in the end, talking about Yuan Kewen, she said, "The brother of the Yuan family's son, it is only suitable for snuggling red and leaning on cui in the happy scene." "Lu Bicheng, who is sober, always knows that he doesn't want anything.

At that time, Yuan Shikai was surrounded by people who vigorously supported him as emperor, and Lü Bicheng expressed his attitude in an extremely sober posture. However, this calm proposition was not adopted by Yuan Shikai. The people around them are ambitious, and those in power do not change the soup for the rule, and in the new situation, it is still a rotten and old kernel.

As a result, Lü Bicheng retreated bravely and joined the business community and engaged in foreign trade business.

The unique charm of women, extraordinary courage and talent, coupled with the rich connections of high society, made her stand out in the Ten Mile Ocean Field. In just three years, considerable wealth was accumulated. Lü Bicheng is not a person who uses the posture of poverty to gain fame, and she does not hide her ardent love for a gorgeous life. She decorated her home magnificently, like a European castle; on a trip to the United States, she rented the most luxurious hotel and was treated as a princess from the East; when she went out to feast, she put on intricate neon clothes, one set at a time, never repeating; on the cover of a magazine, she was radiant and personable.

It is Lü Bicheng who spends his life chasing beauty and freedom.

In the emotional world of Lü Bicheng, there are all kinds of pains buried. The father died suddenly, the little sister died in youth, the eldest sister died of injury in middle age, and she was divorced at an early age... In the midst of impermanence, Lü Bicheng began to think about the mysteries of numerology.

In 1930, Lü Bicheng converted to Buddhism in Geneva. In a pure manner, she translated Buddhist scriptures and wrote works such as Guanyin Sacred Feelings and The Translation of the Amitabha Sutra into English, becoming the first woman to translate Buddhist scriptures.

After the outbreak of the war, Lü Bicheng traveled all over the world to promote Buddhism, hoping to use religion to comfort the wounded people of the world, brilliant as a star, compassion like a lotus.

In the face of such a gorgeous woman, death also gave birth to a little grace and solemnity. On January 4, 1943, Lü Bicheng wrote "Poems Obtained in Dreams": The head of the head can also decay, and the merits of life can be buried. After hastily preaching and talking about the scriptures, I only returned to the human world.

About the state of mind was clear, and she also sensed the arrival of the great limit, and after more than twenty days, she wiped the Buddhist hall spotlessly, and at eight o'clock on the same day, she died in the chanting and went west safely.

Early the next morning, a leaf boat cruised in Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong, where monks and nuns dressed in white and chanted the sutras and sprinkled Lü Bicheng's ashes together with fresh petals in the blue water.

Lü Bicheng had never been married in his life, but so what? Born like the splendor of summer flowers, dead like the quiet beauty of autumn leaves. This is perhaps the most beautiful gesture of a woman.

The Republic of China is in an era of alternating the old and the new, and there are so many bridesmaids left behind, but it is noble and rare that can go against the current. The pride of Lü Bicheng's life lies not only in her freedom from fate, economic independence and personality independence, but also in the fact that she has set an example for thousands of female compatriots who have been poisoned by feudalism, and even devoted herself to the cause of women's progressive education. But as one of the first women to stand up, she was saddled with the derogatory name of a feminist. Chinese women have been kneeling for thousands of years, and to this day, prejudice and ignorance still exist, women have no real sense of complete liberation, most of the time, are they really feminist? They are just fighting for the dignity of a woman as a human being.
