On August 2, 1952, Wang Fuzhi, who was the commander of the 115th Division, led a team to defend the position east of the Jinjiang River, and on this day, the enemy threw countless shells at our army's position, and with a burst of wild bombardment, the position guarded by Wang Fuzhi town instantly became a sea of fire.

Buried in war

At that time, General Wang Fuzhi was in a cave, drawing up a battle plan with his subordinates and staff officers. With a loud noise, the cave was blown down by a bomb, and Wang Fuzhi also fainted from the impact. When he woke up, he found that his body had been crushed by various rocks and could not move.

After observing the surrounding situation, Wang Fuzhi found that the exit had been buried by the collapsed boulder, and there were a total of 7 people in the cave, and 4 people had been killed on the spot, leaving only Wang Fuzhi himself and two staff officers to survive. Because of the heavy and large number of boulders buried in their bodies, it took the three surviving people a full 3 hours to climb out of them.

But as the oxygen in the cave became thinner and thinner, and there was no food or water to preserve physical strength, the boulder blocked the entrance to the cave so tightly that the three could not push it apart. In desperation, he had to try to survive in the cave and wait for rescue. In order to save physical strength, Wang Fuzhi's three people even had to rely on urine for a living.

While the three people were waiting for rescue, the outside of the cave was also chaotic. When the superiors learned of Wang Fuzhi's burial, they ordered their subordinates to rescue them at all costs. But the rescue team dug outside the hole for more than 30 hours without hearing anything. At this time, everyone's heart was heavy, and the lack of movement in the cave meant anything, and everyone knew in their hearts that perhaps Wang Fuzhi had already sacrificed.

Miracles come alive

Surprisingly, at this time, the commander of the sapper company suddenly saw two flies flying out of the hole, and he shouted excitedly: "The division commander still has help!" "There are flies flying out, which means that there is still oxygen in the cave, and the possibility of Wang Fuzhi's survival has become greater." Excited, the crowd continued to rescue. In the end, after 38 hours of excavation, Wang Fuzhi and two staff officers were successfully rescued.
