Translation:

The Word that can be said is not the Eternal and unchanging Word. The forms and names that can be described are not eternal and unchanging forms.

Namelessness and formlessness are the beginning of the universe of heaven and earth; namelessness is the source of the development of all things. Therefore, we must understand the mysteries of the Tao from the state of nothingness; from the state of reality, observe the laws of the operation of all things.

The two have the same origin, both originate from the Tao, are different manifestations of the Tao, but the names are different, but they can be said to be mysterious. It is both mysterious and far-reaching, and it is a method of exploring the laws of all things in heaven and earth.

Perception: The Tao can be Dao, the extraordinary Tao; the name can be named, the very name is very famous.

The Tao that can be said is not an eternal and unchanging Tao; the forms and names that can be described are not eternal and unchanging forms and names.

Nothing is set in stone, everything is changing. For our lives, the only certainty is its uncertainty. So, we have to accept change.

Many of our troubles in life come from the inability to accept change, the fear of change, or the resistance to change, which causes most of our suffering.

For example, a man and a woman, two people get married and become husband and wife. "Husband and wife", this is a form and name that can be described.

The man becomes the woman's husband and the woman becomes the man's wife.

"Husband" and "wife" are the names we give to both of them according to the form of their conjugal relationship.

But this form of relationship, this name, is not immutable, not eternal. It is subject to change.

This form of relationship between husband and wife may change and may disintegrate.

Once this form of relationship disintegrates, the so-called "husband" and "wife" no longer exist.

It's like pouring liquid glass into a mold and cooling it to form a cup. "Cup" is a name we give it according to this form.

However, it is likely that one day, it will fall to the ground and shatter, the form will no longer exist, and the name of the cup will no longer exist.

Usually, we are able to accept that a cup is broken, and when it is broken, it falls.

We can accept this unexpected change, the fact that it is not eternal, that it is possible to break.

But we have a hard time accepting the dissolution of the relationship between husband and wife, and many people will fall into a lot of negative emotions after divorce.

Some people fall into resentment, some people fall into depression, and so on. Some may not be able to come out for several years or even longer.

When you fall into this state of resentment and depression, in fact, you are using your personal will to resist the laws of nature. The more unacceptable and resistant, the more intense the pain.

Therefore, we must understand and accept the changes and uncertainties in life.

Many of the troubles in our lives, the things we think are unsatisfactory, are, in essence, happening under the dominance of the laws of nature.

Therefore, we can't look at it with too strong subjective will, let alone use subjective will to resist.

Only with this accepting mentality can we live more conformist lives.

The Tao Te Ching is a well-known classic of Sinology in our country, although it is only more than 5,000 words, but it contains a long and profound oriental wisdom, and it is not tired of reading it, and it is often read and renewed. I highly recommend that you read this book, you will be able to benefit a lot.
