Ammunition is insufficient and in trouble
Since the outbreak of the incident, the pace of Japanese aggression against our country has gradually accelerated, and countless ordinary Chinese people have lost their lives. At that time, China was still relatively poor and difficult, the weapons used by our Eighth Route Army were somewhat backward compared to the Japanese army, and it was difficult to achieve timely supply of military supplies, and many times the soldiers on the front line could not even eat rice noodles, and it was very difficult to fight the enemy in this difficult living environment.
Sometimes it is even necessary to pick up weapons dropped by enemy troops on the battlefield to use. But at that time, Chinese of any class and any age were able to unite and unite to protect our country, which was also a key factor in the victory of the war.
In April 1939, the Japanese army went south and suddenly launched a surprise attack on the fifth column of the 115th Division's eastward advance of the War of Resistance, the war was very protracted, the two sides exchanged fire for more than ten hours, and the heroic Chinese soldiers killed the enemy's cavalry brigade leader with grenades, forcing the Japanese army to temporarily change the general, and the scene was very chaotic.
In this war, our side seems to have the advantage, but when the Japanese support troops arrived at the battlefield, the situation began to change, our side was invincible to the large number of Japanese troops, and the military supplies were almost exhausted, and slowly and gradually surrounded by the Japanese army, it was difficult to get out of the predicament.
An unexpected bonus and inspiring
Our commander asked the soldiers to respond flexibly to the war situation, considering that there were still many civilians living near the battlefield, and the troops had to cover the retreat of the common people first, so our soldiers actively confronted the Japanese army while helping the people leave the battlefield. However, the Japanese army also made good preparations for this war, and when we had almost no ammunition left, the Japanese army had no intention of ending this war.
In the war, the replenishment of ammunition is very important, without continuous ammunition replenishment, it is really difficult for our side to compete with the Japanese army, but the soldiers do not want to give up, the commander decided to fight with the enemy in close combat, as if death were home, taking up the bayonet and fighting with the Japanese army.
At this critical moment, an old landlord in his 70s ran back to the battlefield, and he told the Fang warrior that there were still more than a dozen boxes of bullets stored in the cellar of his house, and this landlord was Zong Zijing. The sudden arrival of military supplies greatly boosted our army, and the soldiers quickly followed Zong Zijing to the cellar to collect bullets and continue the unfinished war.
At first, the Japanese soldiers thought that we really ran out of bullets, but they were not sure whether this was a plan or not, so they cautiously pushed forward little by little, and even sent a group of death squads to carry out sneak attacks. Fortunately, we got the bullets contributed by the landlord in time, and after solving the sneak attack, we began a counter-offensive, killing the nearest group of Japanese soldiers.
Zeng Guohua, the commander of our detachment at the time, believed that although he had ammunition support, it was not a wise choice to continue fighting, and he decided to let the soldiers retreat strategically and withdraw to an "insurance house" in the village.
It is worth mentioning that this insurance house was also built by Zong Zijing, who did his best to build to resist the war army, and there are high walls built of steel around the insurance institute, which can protect the safety of the hospital very well.
Don't seek fame, silently pay
After the battle, our general insisted on writing an IOU for the landlord, but ZongZijing refused, as a landlord Zongzijing had a strong sense of patriotism and family feelings, he said that he hated the Japanese army, and it was his honor to be able to help the anti-war troops.

During the period of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, our side lacked all kinds of necessary military supplies in combat, but our people's heroes were not afraid of the enemy, did not fear sacrifice, used bayonets without bullets, and resolutely fought the enemy to the end. Nor are the landlords all bad people who exploit the poor peasants.
There were also very kind patriotic landlords who, in the face of the great national righteousness of the country, silently supported our Eighth Route Army at the expense of their own interests, some taking out grain, some taking out weapons, and some letting the Eighth Route Army hide in their homes, making contributions to the War of Resistance.
At that particular moment of crisis, when people were more united in the face of difficulties and challenges, it was very important to establish a national united front for the War of Resistance, and everyone pledged to unite with the outside world and persist in waging a protracted war with the Japanese army. Only with the common efforts and efforts of everyone can we have the fruits of the final victory in the war.
